Carguys @ Shenandoah (video)
Had a great time with carguys this weekend @ the new track. Fun, safe, on schedule event as always from carguys.
I like the new track, but I do wish it had more runoff room in some areas, turns 5-6 are too tight, IMO. Other than that, very challenging.
And some in-car video - flame on
Clean Lap - http://www.we-todd-did-racing....DE%3D (right click, save as - 34 mb)
My car (stock springs) scrapes with a passenger in the bowl - http://www.we-todd-did-racing....DE%3D (right click, save as - 3 mb)
And how to launch yourself out of the bowl - http://www.we-todd-did-racing....DE%3D (right click, save as - 3 mb)

what was that like 19 turns or so?
seems like a lot of turning to make a clean pass on someone in a race for potentially 3-4 turns until it opens back up.......kind of like it is hard to get a clean pass on the main course in the corosel (can't spell).

Re: (Scot)
Interesting........ Slower but looks technical and fun. Not a Novice track. When you "launched" out of the turn sounds like you scraped front jack point on the ITR. You are stock height, lowered that might have been the pan or something else harmful....

Re: Carguys @ Shenandoah (.RJ)
RJ....nice video
After seeing the lack of run off room I am starting to think that Bill Scott invested in some body shops in the Winchester area.
I am sure it's fun but that track looks like my 4-yr old daughter designed it on the back of a Pizza Hut place mat with a crayon
How anyone could think that track could ever be used for racing is beyond me. Given all the carnage in both 944 Cup and Honda Challenge...................there would be no cars left with which to race by mid season
SCCA has already voiced their hesitancy and the kart guys have said there is no way they will race on it.
CHeers,
Jon P. Kofod (whose left scratching his head on this one)

Re: Carguys @ Shenandoah (Apocalypse)
Wow, I am surprised that after all the pomp and circumstance surrounding this track opening it looks so ... well ill suited for cars it seems. I agree w/ you RJ, it looks real tight in some sections (there was one near the beginning where it looked like you had to nearly stop) and also am quite surprised at how close the walls seem to be in some sections where you are entering near blind. Perhaps just bad perspective but man, that looks quite disappointing.

It's my understanding that NASA won't be racing this circuit. The number one reason why? There's no room in the paddock for anything more than about 13 cars.

fyi.. Bill Scott said in the meeting Friday evening that the tight turns could/might be removed at a later date (along with the addition of more runoff room at T13).
It is a very challenging course. High HP will not gain you much (unless you are in a CL 65 ).
It was very nice to see a ZO-6 being pestered by a Spec E30.
Friday in the rain was also a blast for me... lots of slipping and sliding.
There are some drainage issues that they will need to work out in a few turns and BSR needs to keep the training cars off of the pavement .
Off-camber profiles and super late turn-in's are the fun stuff.
Just like J.C. you have to be able to 'drive' to get around the course.
I have several pictures from the 'bowl' that I will try to upload tomorrow evening. There was a photo shoot with some cars lined up in the turn.
