ever see those vw guys widen their steelies? A few honda guys do it. I'm looking to do that so I can put it on my ef hatch.

Vw guys been doing this for a long time and I guess it depends on who do the job for you. But I never heard any of them fail....

very nice! Might be too wide for my ef hatch tho. I was looking in a 14x8. I'll keep that in mind tho.

the reason for the high price is because the wheels and tires are brand new, and the wheels are also powder coated, which was expensive.

what do you need to know about the widening process?
I took the original steelies to Greens Wheel Repair in Vancouver, BC. They cut the original lip off and added 3'' between the face, and the original lip, bringing the width to 9''. The material added is a steel band welded between the face and original lip, they balance, and hold air perfect. Since the widening the wheels and tires have under 20 miles on them, and they were also professionally powder coated; which attributes to the high price. But keep in mind that price is also OBO.
