Default wheels have been curbed

got tenzo shu-4's on my da and a couple have been curbed before(not by me)
its not too bad just the outer part of the rim but when i get going about 55 60 i can notice it.
what's the easiest way to bang these things out? asked a friend and he said just get about a 40lb sledge and go to town.

Hrmm you take the 40lb sledge and go to town and youll start feeling it at 10mph.

I would get new friends, I would also get the rim professionally repaired.

get'm repaired. doeesnt cost much. I had a set of 18's (Ray Gram Lights) on my dc5 and had all four repaired for $300.

There really isn't, at least not an effective way.

Sometimes, when it is very light, people have just sanded it down. I don't know how well that turns out or if it throws the weight off balance. Some have suggested bondo and paint.....well guess how long that will last and what it will look like.

Professionals weld in new metal and spin them on lathes, they really know what they are doing and have the hardware to do it.

I think it's one of those things that really should be only left to the professionals.

what about rims that have been actually scraped, I have a rim that's been scraped on a curb however I've heard of a different method of using clay and repainting? anyone know anymore on this?

i have seen it all..


the process to repair dips/scrapes/curb rash is to either just polish it out (sand) or to have a wheel repair shop tig aluminum on top then sand down smooth again.. it really depends on the extent of the damage.. look up wheel repair in your yellow pages and just call all of them..i will guarantee that 755 of the guys will says bring the wheel down..

..i did that many years and it has helped me out big time and usually small repairs don't cost as much..
