Default Starting a Honda Wheel Database

I've decided to compile a database of all the Honda/Acura OEM wheels mostly because I'm pretty sick of the lack of information about the different wheels that Honda has.

It is also frustrating because all the wheels have nicknames, and that can be confusing.

So basically I'm trying to compile a list--the main thing I need is photos of the particular wheels. So please email me or post photos of the rims. Only catch is that you have to own the copyright and that by sending them to me you're basically granting me copyright rights to reproduce the images. I just have to cover my *** 'cause I could get in trouble if I include photos in the database that don't belong to me.

The database will be web-based. It will be searchable by year and model, bolt pattern, backspacing as well as by nickname. It will have exact dimensional information, bolt patterns and weight information when we can get it. Will also try to have at least one close up picture per wheel.

So if you guys can help me out we'll have a kick *** resource availible.

Nice links... Yeah that will give me good information on the database. After that the only thing I'll need is pictures (which is pretty easy), just need some help with it is all.

I've got pictures of the OEM 92-95 split five Enkeis. They're for sale, actually. Need a pic?

How about a cross reference to VW wheels that'll fit as well. I know VW made some 13x6's that'll fit civics for those ITB and ITC racers.

Default Online now.

I finally got around to finishing up the Honda/Acura Wheel database.

http://www.fatboyraceworks.com/wheels/

There is a couple of cool things about this database:

Pictures! We are trying to collect as many pictures as is possible!

Stock Wheels Lists wheels that originally came on a specific car

Possible Wheel Fits Automatically Searches for other wheels that will likely fit

Possible Car FitsWhen viewing wheel information, returns a list of cars it will probably fit on

Specifications We try to track as much information as possible! We've got wheel weights, offsets, backspacing, widths all in one place!

Fitment Information We keep track of what wheels have been tested on what car, so if we know something does or doesn't fit, we'll let you know.

Power Search Can search for wheels match a specific critiera: example: backspace, diameter, width, number of spokes, nicknames (i.e. twisties, "si", etc.)

Relational Database Everything has linked relationships, is really easy to browse different wheels. Click a wheel to see what it was OEM equipment on and what other cars it should fit, then can click on a car to see what was OEM on it and what wheels shoudl fit, etc.

User contributed content We actively promote user contributed content: pictures of wheels and cars, weights, fitment feedback (92-95 del Sol wheels fit 88-91 CRXes), as well as database corrections.

Some links:

Acura's

Honda's

del Sol Car Car Information
Fat Fives Wheel Information Page

We've got a pretty good start on it, but it is definately a work in progress. We are looking for help in certain key areas: if you have pictures of a wheel that we don't, or have the denotation (i.e. 5.5-J14 OFF45) from the inside of a wheel, please let us know with the form at the bottom of the wheel information page. I also don't have a lot of information yet on cars like Accords, Preludes, RSX, etc. So am looking for people to submit images and tech info on them if possible.

Also if you know a certain wheel fits on a certain car, please let us know by clicking the 'Fits' column for that particular wheel and car combination and fill out the form.

To help things get going, I'll offer a promotion: If you submit a picture of a wheel, send us updated information we don't currently have, or send us fitment information about a wheel / car combination you'll be entered to win a free Honda hat. I have three new hats sitting here.

Also coming soon: Wheel indentification wizard. By entering some key information like number of spokes, diameter, center cap (yes/no), number of bolts, thickness of spoke, directional, etc. we'll help you automatically identify a wheel! Pretty cool, so if you know what a wheel looks like but don't know what it is called or what car it came from you'll be able to figure that out here shortly. Probably will be a couple of weeks, but should be killer when it is up.

Right now we just have Honda/Acura stuff, but once that gets totally built up and is complete I'll start putting other makes in there and we'll be able to cross reference everything. Mostly need some other guys that know a lot about the other makes to help, but shouldn't be that hard.

I know there are a lot of Mazda, BMW and VW wheels that will fit, so should be pretty kick ***. The other thing I have to figure out is the minimum backspace and diameter ranges for each car so can get a decent idea of what weird wheels would fit on it and what probably won't. Anyway, eventually we'll get there.
