Recently purchased 15x6.5 Rota Slipstreams, need advice for tire size
as stated, i had just purchased 15x6.5 Rota Slipstreams and i need tires for them.
the brand isn't too much of an issue for me, i basically need advice on the measurements. before these rims i had 17x7 mr12 motegis sitting on 215-45-17 Nexen N3000s. i chose 215-45-17 because the thickness of it was perfect and the width just passes the edges of the rims protecting it from any curb or parking damage. so for thickness would 215 be the same on 15s? and how about the width? i would like the same thickness for a nice ride, and the same with the overlapping of the edges of the rims for protection. advice would be highly appreciated.

Stickied at the top of this forum, where only the most clueless couldn't find it , is the topic:
Forum Rules and FAQ - READ BEFORE POSTING
It says:

What size tires should I get?
<FONT SIZE="4">The proper size depends on your car, not just the wheels you are using. So if you want to ask what size you should get, let us know what kind of car you have!</FONT>
For a CRX, del sol, or pre-'96 Civic, the following sizes are usually best:
13" - 175/70-13
14" - 185/60-14, 195/55-14
15" - 195/50-15
16" - 205/40-16, 195/45-16
For an Integra or '97-00 Civic, the following sizes are usually best:
14" - 185/65-14, 195/60-14
15" - 195/55/15, 205/50-15
16" - 205/45-16, 215/45-16
17" - 205/40/17
</TD></TR></TABLE>
So unless you want to tell us what kind of car (model, year, version) the tires are going on, your question doesn't provide enough information to answer.
While you're at it, you can provide some more information, and we can make a recommendation:

This depends on what you're looking to get out of the tire. Make a new topic and tell us what you intend to use it for. In that topic, make sure to answer the following questions:
- What kind of car you have (year, model, version)
- What size wheels you have
- How the tires will be used (daily driving, autocross/track/dragstrip)
- What kind of weather the tires will be used in (dry, rain, snow)
</TD></TR></TABLE>

Thanks for the additional information.
The best 15" tire size for your '93 Civic is 195/50-15. (You need to get the proper size for your car so that the speedometer and odometer are accurate, and so that the tires don't rub on the wheel wells.)
Because you will be using these tires for daily driving all year round, in winter snow and in moderate to warm temperatures the rest of the year, you need an all-season tire. The best all-seasons available in 195/50-15 span a wide price range, and some are quite inexpensive, although they're not as good as some all-seasons available in other sizes. I suggest the Kumho AST ($41/tire at the Tire Rack), Falken Ziex ZE-912 ($47/tire at Vulcan Tire), or Toyo Proxes 4 ($58/tire at onlinetires.com).
