Icon3 NEED HELP CHOOSING RIMS?

Hi, i have a 94 eg civic ex, i just installed koni suspension planning on lowering it 1inch or 1.5inch. But i would like to get some rims first, should i get 16inch rims with 7 inch width or 16 inch rims with 8 inch width. I go canyon running a lot and track to do time attacks. Would 8 inch be too wide? Anyone have personal experience with 8 inch or should i just go with 7 inch?

And what kind of tires should i use to get the best grip?

Thanks

A narrower, lighter set-up will be faster on the track.

Wrong section. Also, you pick a tire depending on the driving you do (the conditions) there is no best tire.

Well, if you haven't done anything to the fenders/quarter panels to increase wheel/tire clearance, you're not going to be able to fit an 8" wide wheel with properly sized tires. The best wheel sizes for that chassis are typically 15" tall, as well, given the abundance of 15" tires that are available (you'll find that its much more costly and difficult to get 16" tires that are properly sized for your car, and in more track-desired tire sizes).

15x7 +35's are probably the best overall size for your car, without modifying the body work. You can fit a nice 205 width tire on those, for a nice increase in contact patch and overall grip.
