Need advice on "new" lowered car
Hi everyone. Lurker for years. My 01 Prelude and my wife's 07 S2k are pretty much stock so anything I need I can find through search...until now.
About a week ago I found an 00 Civic Si on Craigslist for a heck of a deal. It needs some body work due to someone taking a ball bat to it, but other than that, clean as can be and only 70k miles. Who knows, someone may know this car.
Anyway, some previous owner lowered this car with Sknuk 2 coilovers and put 16x8 Varrstoen V4 rims with stretched tires. I'm not a fan of this tire stretching thing and the car is just too low for the hideous western PA roads. So with that said, I'm strongly considering going back to 15x7 rims with 195/50/15 tires and raising the car back up some.
Before doing this, I thought I would post to the experts and ask your thoughts. These V4 rims are in pretty good shape and I like the look, but I don't want stretched tires. Is there any way to still use these rims with a new tire combo without stretching or a bunch of negative camber to get them to fit? I'm thinking maybe there is an option since I'm going to adjust the car back up.
Is this just too wide of a rim no matter what I do -or- will look like heck with a proper tire/rim combo and raised back up to make The V4's work?

Re: Need advice on "new" lowered car
Thanks. I don't want to do any of that. I was hoping that if the car was sitting higher, possibly even stock height, that I might get away with those rims. I think my best bet is to go back to stock size then.
Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it.
