Can I run 15x7 +40 Offset on my EK4
Hi, I am new here. I have some queries to ask about changing rims.
Currently I am using 15x6.5 +45 4x100PCD Honda rims . Planning to change to a set of Rota Slipstream with profile 15x7 +40 4x100PCD.
1) If I change to this rim, can I still use my existing tire with profile 195/55/R15 on the new rims?
2) If I change to this rim, will it rub my fender when doing turning?
Thanks in advance everyone

Re: Can I run 15x7 +40 Offset on my EK4 (gabebauman)
Hi gabebauman,
Thanks alot for replying. Makes me feel more at ease because I an about to order the rims from Rota.
As for the tires, will they fit into the 15x7 rims because the tires are fairly new. I just changed them in Feb. So, I was hoping that I can used up this set of tires and then get a set of 205/50/15 tire for the next change.
Ur car is very nicely done up.

Most 195/55-15 tires are approved for rims that are 5.5-7.0 inches wide, so yes, you can use them. They might appear a bit "stretched" on the rim.

answer to your question is yes, it will work.
i ran 195/50/15, 195/55/15 and 205/50/15 on 15x7 wheels. never had a problem...
195/55/15 was the best to me...seeing that i don't "slam" my car all the way to the ground like most people do.

Thanks alot too, ECAhatch. Hmm, my car is pretty low. Anyway, I will just test it out and see how the tires is going to take it.
Thanks to everyone who reply in this thread once again.

Re: Can I run 15x7 +40 Offset on my EK4 (EKRon)
do you have pics of how low it is?
the offset on all my 15x7" wheels were 35, meaning they stuck out more...so there is a higher risk of rubbing.
since you will be running 45 offset, should be no worries
