I'm the originator of this thread ! it's really a good one to see it back at the top.
I am amazed to see how much valuable information came trough all this.

do you got a good source for the beveled spacers that go between the helm joints and the mounting tabs. i was looking at them yesterday and cant remeber where i seen them.

I just made my own spacers. I bought 1" bar pipe with a .25" wall. Cut my spacers to length and then routed them at 45 degrees.

those look bad ***. unfortunatly i dont have access to that many tools, and the cost of 8 spacers will prob be pretty low considering. i was looking at them yesterday but for the life of me cant remember where

Just try a search on rod end safety washers. It should give you a decent starting point. Mine were going to be $3-4 a piece....probably $40 shipped for all 8.

I know this thread is over 2 years old, but there was so much good info going on in here I wanna keep it going.
Here's my contribution so far:
I made the bar to support my radiator and mount my intercooler last month, finally got around to ordering radius rod material, and after hours of searching on summitracing.com I found some pretty cool stuff.
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/AAF-ALL56417
Radius rods already 17" long and anodized gold.
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CEE-3422/
Clevis bracket that works great for eg/dc LCA mounting bracket, width is a little much, i'll probably have to run bushings or shims or something to fill the gap.
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CEE-3424/
PERFECT tabs if using 1 5/8" bar, I will take a 1.625" hole saw and shorten one of the tabs on each side so I get a 30 degree angle for the radius rod so the heim is not crooked.
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FKB-ECM10/
Cheap heim's i'm gonna use, the car sees MAYBE 3k miles a year, and doesn't get driven in bad weather. I really don't think i'll wear these out within a year.
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FKB-SJNL10-1/
Jam nuts...duh...
That's pretty much all you need to build a traction bar, besides the main bar and tow hook plates.
I received all the stuff besides the threaded alum. rods, those had to come directly from the manufacturer, so they may be another week out. I will post pics once the project is done. Keep the good info alive!!!

on a side note, i am going to place my order for this stuff today. i am concerned about getting the correct threads for the helms joints. should all 4 helms be right hand thread?

Usually you need a LH/RH per side. So 2xLH and 2xRH. Otherwise you have to completely disconnect the rod end from the bolt to adjust length.

Some pipe and som lasercut plates.
Mockup that i did on my crx-89
Make a jigg to do a few extra to my friends here...
3 total.
And some nice welds on that.. (I'm a design engineer, so i donīt weld very often.. But I'm happy with these welds )
Next time I'm gonna make for civic/crx EE/EF. We have alot of them here in Sweden, and they need better tractionbars as well!
