i have heard the red hf box called the "best bang for the buck" on ~4-5 different forums.</TD></TR></TABLE>
IMHO it seriously is, im not saying it just bc i have one
i researched prices, looked at different boxes, and read all the reviews i could find for a good 2-3 months solid before i decided on the HF box
and with all the money you save over a snap on you could fill it with tools just about

Thought that I wouldn't be able to fill it up... now 2 months later I need a topbox. A word for the home wrenchers: Buy the largest, best quality you can buy so you will never have to buy another.
Anywhos the financial hole of tools is unending!

we have 3 large ones: hf, snapon, and craftsman. they are all the same. hf cheapest, snapon most expensive obviously, haha.

I posted in on the first page about my costco box, bought in 2005 or so and still nice and shiny and the drawers are still solid and smooth.

I use a Husky box I got on craigslist. For $250 with some tools in it it was a hell of a deal. It is far far better quality than my craftsman.

Re: What kinda tool box do you guys have Im in the market?
I have the HF 42in cabinet with a single drawer Craftsman ball bearing box on top of that. next to it I have a 42in Waterloo, next too it I have the HF red Roll cart, next to that I have the Craftsman 26in roller cabinet, with the 4 drawer intermediate box, and the top chest. I probably have less than $1000 bucks in tool boxes, and 20 times that in tools. Of course I could have $10K in the box and $1000 in tools, but that seems counter productive to me.
What ever box you buy don't go into debt to get it. There is nothing more pathetic than a tech with a $15K tool box/cart that can hardly make enough money to feed his family.

OK im probably gunna get flamed for this but check out the red one at HF. It blows the craftsman, costco or homedepot boxes out of the water. If you done believe me go look at it in person.
I am very familiar with the high end boxes from snap on matco mac etc. and this box is a very small step below them, and I mean very small. It has defferent side boxes, top boxes, side lockers and what not available. The only problem I have been able to find with mine is if you dont like red your out of luck. If you think it cheap and flimsy me and my buddy could not pick it up empty to get it out of the truck it ended up falling out and not a scratch.
Honestly any one looking for a tool box just go look at it you wont be dissapointed and the best part is they are always on sale and you can pick them up with coupons for around $300.
