Default Look here if you know your AN fittings

I need to order fittings but space is limited. What I need is a 12x1.25 banjo fitting:

And a 90* 3/8 pipe fitting

I was going to connect them with -6 hose. Now the problem is space. Here's what I'm working with:

I'm worried about the length of the fittings. As you can see I have about 3 inches of space. If I use very little hose can I still make the connections? The problem is I don't know how bulky these connectors are.

Thanks

I would run a loop of line, instead of just going straight to it. It would be 100x easier, and it would also allow for a little flex if the pump needs to move slightly.

Thats the way its setup now but it takes up too much space and runs into reliability issues. And also the fuel filter will be mounted right to the fuel rail.

They make like butt connectors or something similar, where they just screw together and don't use any hose. I had to do this with my fuel cell to pump fitting.

Something like this

Yeah something like that will work, I'll probably go with that if I can find a 12x1.25 banjo fitting with a male 6AN fitting.

They make just about anything you can imagine, it is finding it is the hard part. Took me a few days just to find the damn fittings from 3 diff places that I needed.

Good luck man.. btw what is the application?

Yeah, I know the fittings are out there but its tough to find out what the length of a clusterfuck of certain connectors are going to be

Oh and its for my Yamaha Banshee:

Trying to get the fuel management straightened out before I finalize phase 2

I don't think that would work.

You can draw a two inch square around a standard 90* AN -6 hose end. I'm not sure about the actual size of a banjo end. Those two points don't line up horizontally either. There would need to be a decent amount of hose there (an inch? maybe more) to make up for the difference in heights between the banjo and the 90.

I don't think the coupler idea would work either.

It's hard to tell how much space there is from the pictures, but you might be able to do something like this:

Use a 90* 3/8 male npt to -6 AN male fitting (red in picture), to a 120* -6 AN hose end that swivels (green in picture), through some ss braided line (blue in picture) and meet up with banjo fitting.

If it would help, I could take some pictures of standard -6 90* hose end beside a ruler so you can get a feel for its practical size.

edit: or you might use a 180* hose end in place of the 120* and fit it further clockwise, if that makes any sense.

if you have 3-4" height there, you could easily just put a 3/8npt to -6 fitting on the filter and a m12x1.25 to -6 fitting on the rail, then connect the two fittings using 3/8" hard line with tube nut/sleeves.
i would do this with the addition of a smaller inline fuel filter like the earls one, which already has an fittings on it. also just curious, where did your vacuum canister go?

The filter isn't mounted yet. The fittings will dictate the final placement of the filter.

If you could take a picture of a standard -6an 90* with a ruler I'd appreciate it.

I don't know what you mean by "Vacuum canister" but I think your talking about the boost bottle and if you are I threw it in the trash where it belongs.

This is the new setup I'm probably going to go with:

any suggestions?

It looks like the coupler idea (parts linked in your last post) would work then.

Here's a 90* swivel -6 end next to a fixed 90* -6 end:

Here's a 90* fixed -6 end next to a straight -6 end:

Here's a 90* swivel -6 hose end next to a -6/-6 union:

You could probably figure out the exact female/female -6 coupler size from those pictures, and get a general idea for the 90* adapter fittings.

Post up when you get it done, if you can. I'd like to see the finished product. Project looks fun.

Thanks for the pics. I ordered fittings. I had to call Earls's and they gave me exact measurements (after Summit was no help ) The center to center tightened lengths measures 2.950" which is perfect. Hopefully the right fittings get sent to me, I guess we'll see Friday when they get here

Well fitting got here today and of course when you pay $20.00 in shipping on $29.00 worth of parts becuase your in a hurry they of course aren't going to be the right ones The fitting for the fuel filter is wrong but I can probably find it locally. What a pain in the ***. But at least they do fit nice.

What about this. Get a couple of those banjo ends and get a bushing with male pipe threads and female machine threads. Thread the bushing into the fuel filter and screw a banjo bolt and fitting into the bushing. Then you can have a very simple piece of line with 2 banjo fittings.

They don't make the Banshee anymore (in the US anyways) becuase tree hugging hippie ******s want everyone to ride ***** 4-strokes.

may have been able to hardline it. i saw this new type of brake hardline about a month ago. it was hand bendable and you could bend it over and over again without fatiguing it.

you sure about that man? i think the 4 stroke engine would produce more torque @ lower rpm.....

4 strokes make less power for the same displacement but IMO are much more rideable. It really depends on what you want to do with your machine wether a 2 stroke or 4 stroke is better suited.

Yeah but who cares about low end torque? I want to go fast not pull a boat. Some of the new 4-strokes are nice and I'm probably going to get an LT450R but when it comes to overall power and speed, its going to be a long long time before 4-strokes are able to match the power potential of a Banshee.

But yes it was the tree hugging hippie **** that killed the 2-stroke
