Default welding newbie ?

New to the welding world, I bought a 180 mig welder by clarke. It came with a gas ar/co2 regulator however when i got home i dropped the regulator on the ground accidently. The gauge for the gas flow is reading 14 l/min. Is that normal? i cant remember if it looked like that before i dropped it.

No, you need to replace that regulator. Low pressure gauge should read zero when cylinder is off and any residual pressure has been released by pulling the gun's trigger or hitting the "purge" switch if equipped.

That's one reason I like a proper flowmeter - you know if you have a leak because the little ball is floating in the tube when it's not supposed to be (gun not triggered). Or, you know you have a stoppage if the little ball isn't floating when it IS supposed to be (gun triggered).
