I'd be willing to bet you that 99% of the welders in here that are actually good couldnt even sew together a square seat cushion if you set them down to a machine. No need to put the trait down just because it's not manly metal which you must work with all day.

Ehh i give respect to the guys who can do good auto upholstery. It's not exactly easy.

Its fabrication if you are creating something, in this case seat covers.

Its definately not easy at all if you're concerned with quality work. Also "upholstery" work goes far beyond just making seat covers fellas.
