SS to Alum Connections
So some of you guys are running the stainless down pipe with an aluminum back section or cat back. I'm wondering what Vbands are you guys picking up? I'm worried that the aluminum and the stainless wont fit together due to just design differences between the two. So who would be the best supplier if your going to mix vbands. This is for the 4" size.

Re: SS to Alum Connections
I usualy order a alum vband kit and one ss flange then use the alum one that dosent have a oring and it mates up and seals just fine. Vibrant FTW

Re: SS to Alum Connections
I buy a stainless v-band, take one flange to the mahcine shop, and have them turn me an aluminum "clone" of the stainless one. Aluminum v-band assemblies are expensive so it works out cheaper. It'll vary depending on what sort of machine shop relationships you have of course.

Re: SS to Alum Connections
you can piece together a setup at Racepartsolutions
get the Male mild steel and Female Aluminum, as Male aluminums come with o rings, but male steel do not have o rings.
i believe a 3" setup is $17.95 (clamp) and $17 for each flange.

exactly why i mentioned race parts solutions. they will mix and match types of materials with their vbands, only place that i have found that does that.
