Oven Cleaner, leave on for 2-3 minutes, agitate with a toothbrush and rinse with water. It only takes 1 or 2 applications. Be cautious though, if you leave the cleaner on too long it will turn the part black.

Also keep in mind that anodize penetrates into the metal, so for example if the part has an anodize thickness of 2mil, there will be 1mil into the metal and 1mil on top of it. So if it does not all come off with the above mentioned process then a little sanding will get the rest.

Purple Cleaner or Purple Power will also work. Leave the parts in the cleaner for 15 minutes and scrub off... sometimes the anodizing is harder so it will need to soak longer. Rince off with water and bam... Use a little wire brush

We used drain cleaner for a few parts, worked like a charm.

Some light sanding took off the leftover lettering.
