yea and basically SafeDrives said they ordered the correct thing, S&W said they shipped what SafeDrives ordered, so SafeDrives is going to replace it for me out of their pocket to them for stepping up and helping me out. S&W pretty much told me I am **** out of luck and if I want a new one its gonna be $160+tax picked up at their place.

Re: (cluelessmale)
i just got the 10 pt. from sw, ordered from safe drives. from what i can tell the hoop is perfect except i need to trim about 3 inches from the bottom on the hoop. it is notched, but the roof hoop and the bar that goes across the firewall is not notched, oh and the top part of the a pillar bars isnt. but other than that . i might be back after i start tacking it in though. haha

Re: (96 GSR-T)
i meant to mention i have an 89 crx. the length of the hoop bottom is actually great since theres extra! and i like how the certain parts are not notched, and also have an extra 3 or 4 inches to work with. i havnt worked w/ cages much and especially not w/ notching, but having extra to work w/ is always a plus.

The best way to order the S&W cage is either custom main hoop, or just ask them to add a few extra inches on the main hoop and cut to fit... I have ordered 5 from them and after the first I just stared ordering them with extra and havnt had a problem since...

I've done a few s&w's in mustangs, I always end up putting all the tubes through the notcher again, saves a bunch of grinding time on their "notches"

One thing I noticed, they did not go deep enough with some of the notches.

Maybe they try a bit harder for the honda guys.
Here is the notch as shipped on the front door bar coming off the main hoop.

you sure that is the right bar? the only knotch I have that looks like that is the d bar where it meets the hoop and harness bar.

Hrmm...
I don't know what you guys are bitching about, but I've installed two S&W cages without a problem. One in a 90 DSM, and one in a BB6 prelude. In my experience, they make the bars a little long so you can trim to get the fit you want. We were able to get a very tight fitting main hoop in both.
You have to keep in mind that they are simply providing the basic tube to make the cage build a little easier for someone without a bender. There is no way they are going to make a "perfect fit out of the box" cage kit.

Is that the lateral bar or side bar ? Yeah I had an issue with them not notching them as big as they should of been either. On some of the bars I did, I wish they would of left a little longer to allow more flexibility with them.

Re: (RCautoworks)
the rest of mine went together pretty well... you do have to consider that it is a really well priced "pre-fabbed kit" you cant expect it to be perfect for every car out there...

I don't have a tubing bender handy..lol.
</TD></TR></TABLE>
You just need to find something that you can put the end of whatever tube you are trying to adjust in. Something solid to pry against. It's quite easy to 'unbend' a bend a little by hand. Usually a little body weight or a good pull and you can change the shape a little at a time.

at the moment with the stock seats it only like an inch and a half between the halo and my head but i am still under the bar just a little... i am soon buying seats and low mount sliders to get rid of that problem

Re: s&w roll cage? (dart2.2)
I am installing a 10 point in a Lexus sc300 right now, and nothing fits right. The main hoop is too narrow, the hoop over the drivers head is too wide. All the bars that are notched, are useless as is, they all need major reshaping to fit. I'll never install an s&w roll cage again. I can post pic's if you want.

Re: s&w roll cage? (hootiehoo)
Drove to S&W today and picked up my new hoop and return the correct one, they must of felt bad and tried hard to make me a good one, I am very pleased with it.
