Re: (Boostwerks.com)
It looks like we are going to downsize the throttle body because I cant find a 4.25" tube for the cold size chargepipe to match the 105mm tb so it is now going to be 95mm which matches 4" just fine
The hot side is also a 4" that I am going to fab up where it flares from the 3" at the turbo to 4" while making a bend, pics will be up of this when done as I know many want to know that secret
it is actually really simple to do so and it isnt a goofy jdm style bend, it starts out as a normal 4" mandrel 90 and ends up being 3" one side and 4" on the other with a perfect transition over the entire bend

I have had .065 come apart at the intercooler lots of times before at 18 PSI even when it was studed. Good luck with it but I wouldn't do anything thinner than .090 on end tanks or intakes anymore.

The wiring is about 90% done stil have to finish up wiring the under the dash
The rest of the material for the intake manifold comes in 2 weeks I will have it finished up then, Car should be ready for nopi in march I should have it done 1 month before if all goes well so I can get some practice in with it

The wires going to iacv, water temp, map, air temp will all be underneat the plenum so you wont see them
With the brake booster installed you cant see the main harness
More pics will be up when done

Re: Official JG-Fab.com s2k Race car build post updated weekly (SYD)
Finished the port and polish on the runners
The plenum will be welded up and on the runners next weekend
Here is what they looked when I started the port bad pic but you can see how much bigger the v stacks are than the factory
The weld up in the v stacks is where I got to much penetration and it melted it, had to weld it up so I had something to smooth out (like putting bondo in a dent to get a body smooth and straight )
For those that dont know I do porting and polishing also, I was doing that long before I ever learned how to weld
I only do it for myself at the moment though so dont ask for any
I am going to be running some experimental ports on the s2k head on the exhaust side if it all goes good we will be offering it as a service (cnc port 1" into head then worked by hands where the machine cant reach)

I have 2 options with it
I can run a 3k or 4k stall (costs 1000$ for this trq converter) and spray no2 off the line to get it going and get boost up fast
or I can run a 6k have full boost at the line but pay nearly 3500$ for the trq converter
It is cheaper to do no2 and lower stall than the big stall but I have never been a nitrous guy so I dont know what I am going to do yet lol
-James</TD></TR></TABLE>
i migh tbe a tad late.. but i would suggest NOS off the line with a smaller stall as u stated... we are running a 5500 stall on my dads corolla and kissing the NOS to spool the turbo... we are getting 25 ish PSI once the hammer drops...
this is with a Ford C4 trans...

The only problem with running nos also is that it puts me in a dual power adder class and I have to put more weight in the car....
I have orderd a 6k stall if it works great without nos woot if it needs it to bring it up on the stall and get good launches then I will put on my 150shot direct port setup and go for the big 1000hp mark

If I were you, I'd be looking for locals that do work on GM trannies. I live close to a guy who lives, breathes, sleeps - eats - auto transmissions. 40hrs for industrial rebuilding with 60hrs at his own place for 9 months of the year. I paid him $150 to clean & rebuild my th350, and that included a b&m shift kit w/install. He does his own brazing to make stall converters, and when I asked him rough prices, nothing was over a few hundred.
$3500 is mighty pricey.

I have a good friend who runs/owns a tranny shop who is fully building the th400 for me
straight cut gears
all new race clutches
trans brake with full manual shift body
the works for $800 he isnt charging me a penny for labor that $800 includes the tranny
it is good to have friends

Sick deal on the trans, should be able to take the power you toss at it. With that motor you may have done just as well with a 700r, I've seen them take craploads of torque too. Depending on your gearing, you may also want to look into a magnetic lockup. Back when I'd help with enduro racing, we'd take a built th350 with the lockup mated to a ponitac 400 and dominate on the straights. It also allowed for a shorter diff, of which the benifits are obvious.

Some recent progress
The plenum will be 100 % later this evening will have those pics when it is done
Overall I dont think I will have any issues with backpressure at least not in the intake manifold

Re: (Sobe_Death)
yes it clears it by 1/2" very close lol
I might run into hood clearance issues if that happens I will get a good ole school cowl scoop on there
Here are the pics of it done
All sensors are going underneath the plenum so you wont see them
Still have to make the water elbo and the filler neck will be on it as with plenum water sensors go underneath
