Default Cad Database???

So I've been doing a lot of models lately for mocking things up before building them. Is there a website where I can post these cad files for others to use?? I figure it would be nice to share all these solidworks files with others.

I'm just always modeling stuff in my spare time.

I've modeled just in the last couple weeks:

Synapse 50mm wastegate
Borg Warner S480 T6 turbo
Lots of 6-1 collectors (divided, undivided, radial)
2JZ intake flange and prototype intake manifold
Divided T6 Collector and Flange
Divided T4 Collector and Flange
Datsun L28 Intake manifold and flanges
ect

I just need a server that will allow me to upload these things and let others download them. I can upload them in several formats to help out as well. I do all my drafting in SolidWorks 2007, but can spit out lots of different formats like IGES from it.

I could set up a website to host them as well as some of my files..... I like the idea of sharing CAD drawings. It's pointless for us all to waste our time drawing a T3 flange

Agreed... CAD databases would be great. Some of the manufacturing tolerances that the OEM's place on alot of these flange type parts, are pretty large, so often reverse engineering can be a challenge. But even beyond flanges, it would be nice to have cad drawings for a vast array of components.

As far as the flanges go... if any one wants a flange... I do 3 axis cnc machining in house. Currently building up my flange library/inventory. I do very quick turn around, and provided that you have a viable flange that you need machined, I can machine for you for very low cost, in exchange for the point geometry/cad data. So long as its not something ridiculous like a geo metro exhaust manifold flange. I doubt that making those would be very profitable.

I have a decent list right now:
1g/2g/evo intake / exhaust manifold flanges
EVO turbo outlet flange
t4 inlet flanges
Q45 throttle body flanges
B18 exhaust and intake flanges

All flanges are cnc machined, every surface has a machined finish. Examples below:
Stainless:

Aluminum:

just buying them can save you time and $.

i'll draw up any flange, regardless if it is a 1 off, or 100. my goal is to have the most diverse collection of patterns. right now i've got over 50 different cad files with new ones being developed each week.

Something like this would be awesome. I'm about to start building my manifold and I have to cut up a divided t4 collector for a 4 cylinder. Would be nice to know the exact angle, although I do understand some people like to keep things like this under wraps.

SolidWorks has something called 3d content central (http://www.3dcontentcentral.com/3DContentCentral/). It's a free service you can upload to and download from. I'm not sure how they're submission process works though...

I signed up for 3d content central, buts its not really geared around the aftermarket automotive parts.

True enough, but that's a *very* narrow field. I doubt it's anywhere near large enough to support a service like that.

Sorry about trippple posting

Does anyone have the CAD drawing of a Holset HX35w exhaust exit flange that they would like to share ?????

Style of flange is 5 bolt pattern , i will try and upload a few pics

these flanges i purchased from the States they were plasma cut and i had surfaced them cause they where not sitting flat

the T3 flange i cut them manually in a batch of 4 at one time took me about a one hour to cut the metal and square all the sides and them mill out the dividing scrolls and and drill 4 holes and tap them

OK I'm a virgin on this website How do you download pictures

I have gone to the above menu bar and 'clicked' insert image ???? [IMG][/IMG] and that's all that i get ??? how do i insert a image ?? can someone set a full working example on how to insert a image in this forum ????

Other forums that i visit have a " Attachment Posting Control Panel " add an attachment that I am used to.

any help would be appriciated Thanks

cheers
