Not to knock your work, but all that has been posted is a bunch of cuts done by a laser, big deal! Im pretty sure after the first collector everyone knows that a laser makes a nice cut without a bevel. Why dont you post up some of the parts once they are welded? The concept of the downpipe is awesome, and the collectors look great, but i dont understand why everyone is drooling over it, its a picture of a laser cut, maybe i should start a thread and document everytime i make a cut on my bandsaw?? I think honda-tech needs a manufacturing forum, that would suit this thread very well...

The only reason you are requesting the welded assembly is so you can find flaws. The man is very talented in his set up and execution of the cutting and fitment. That afterall is 95% of the work. Welding it is just a small piece of the pie. If it all fits correctly it makes welding it a breeze.

Some of these clown are idiots. A laser cut is all part of fabrication, which last time i checked, we ARE in the Fabrication Forum, are we not?

Good stuff Brad!

It's not my car so I can't really comment too much, but it's to adapt an AWD drivetrain setup into a Honda chassis that is otherwise FWD.

Default BMW ITB plenum plates

I'm pretty disappointed with this picture, but they were already boxed up and shipped so there was no retaking... In short basically just matched the embossed pattern on the Itb's and machined a couple 6061 plates to mate with an O-ring seal. Pretty straight forward, but I was rather happy with the fit. Again, sorry for the crud picture.

How much does a machine like that cost? Does it allow you to cut channels in plate for O-rings like you have pictured or do you have a mill as well? Everything looks great, I'm still doing everything by hand and it is SO time consuming!

Is it just for straight cutting or can it move in 3 axis?

The laser only moves in a third axis for change in material sizes. I also have a CNC vertical mill.
