BAT ring I fabricated for a customer
I had a customer ask for a bat themed ring so here is what I came up with. It's more of a show ring rather than something you might wear every day but it's sort of cool. The ring is 100% carbon fiber like all of our other rings.
Prior to coating
After coating, I like the ring with a matte finish but that's just me.
I know it isn't automotive specific exactly other than the material it's made from but the other half of our business for the past 4 years is building these cf rings so I thought I'd sharea fun project I got to build.

i have one of your regular rings and really like it. only problem is that the coating started chipping after a month or so, eventually i just scratched it all off and nw its bare. still looks sweet, but i would look into that, or just think about not coating them.

We actually sell them both ways coated and uncoated. I'm pretty surprised the coating came off after a month. We wear our rings for testing purposes to see how the coating holds up and after a year of constant use the rings usually have some scratches but no chipping. Chipping or flaking off is usually caused by abuse or moisture/oils under the coating. I had one customer send his back and it turns out he was wrenching on his car with it, LOL We have tried lots of different coatings and have a 1 year warrantee if you want yours recoated. It's an epoxy coating so it's about as tough as we can find and still be clear.

I like how you asked that question all slick, we all know you weld with it on. Nice looking ring, can you make me a Vince Lombardi hat out of carbon fiber ?

Re: (Flashmn)
It really depends but I guess average is $150 but it really depends on how long it takes me to build it.
I don't really focus much on why someone wants something built I just wanted to post up something interesting.

Re: (Aquafina)
If I had a nickel for every time I have posted a ring and then get all sorts of cute product ideas. I think that idea usually comes up first for some reason. No big deal, just gets old.

LOL you are probably right as silly as it sounds. I don't really want to deal with sizing issues on that particular product. I'll let someone else take moveon it, LOL

i wasnt doing anything to beat on it, it just randomly started chipping after normal wear.
i like it better uncoated though, and i do weld with mine on my thumb, and on my other thumb my ring i made out of a drill bit and another i made from stainless 1/16 welding rod with the little ID tag on it.
