Another grade my welds post ;)
Here is a pic of a log manifold I did for a customer that was waiting 2 months, overall I think he should be happy with the outcome.
This manifold was fully backpurged
This just goes to show that good things come to those who wait....
Yes I do not make manifolds as fast as many people (each log takes me 6 hours to build) but as you can see alot of time and effort go into each into making sure they are perfect. Yes there are still the letters on the wg tube, I had acetoned it after the pic to clean that off
If this is how good my log manifolds come out, think of how good my $1000 top mounts come out, hopefully this will be a bit inspiring for those who are still waiting for their orders

ive gotta be a noob here and ask, why is there two flanges. one for turbo, the other for.......wastgate?.
it seems kinda strange having it right by that cylinders exit point, its gonna lose half/ish exhaust force out there instead of to the turbo.

Don't worry, we all gotta start off somewhere.
It's for the external wastegate. Some turbos do not have an internal wastegate, like the factory turbos (14b, etc), so you have to place the external wastegate somewhere. Placing it near the collector (or in this case, close to the turbine flange) will ensure that sufficient exhaust energy is diverted away from the turbine to prevent boost creep and keep a tighter control on boost levels.

It looks like he did those by walking the cup, and cameras have a habit of making welds look undercut from less than straight on angles.

I was looking on your website and you have a "ramhorn" for sale that is 1,000?
Don't you think that is a little pricey considering your competition.

oooh, those welds look like they were so carefully done. You can see so many beads in them!
You are taking a good phylosophy,
the harder you work on your earlier works,
the better your later stuff will be.
If you spend lots of time effort and concentration now, you'll be able to work much faster in the future but still produce equal results.

I have over $600 in materials in that manifold, it is not a cheap pipe fitting manifold that can be built for less than $200 materials like all my other competition....

Like I said, I wasn't knocking your products, b/c it seems you are a stand up guy with something to back it up.

at least the manifold you made for him has the runners crimped at the head flange. i had to grind the sexy *** weld just to bolt mine up..
your stuff looks nice though. and i wouold buy again so dont take this as a hate post.

looks good but if it takes you 6 hours, why did it take 2 months to make it for your customer??
and I don't get why people who have their own business and are excellent welders make posts about grading there welds, yes it looks good, you already know that
you want feedback, get customers there products faster!

I personally beleive that their is nothing wrong with waiting for a great product like JG-Fab is offering... with some exceptions like OneFab for example... 10months is way too long to wait but yea you get the idea

I really don't care if it takes 2 months, as long as the customer knows that when he orders.
I just can't stand these showoff posts like this one. Its fine to show stuff you've built if your providing useful info for others. But I don't think this is the right place for companys to make posts like this to advertise their products.
