Default www.importrp.com Import Replacement Parts Review

I recent bought a cap and rotor for my integra from http://www.importrp.com

They advertised:
CAP http://importrp.com/product.ph...age=1
ROTOR http://importrp.com/product.ph...age=1

Notice the parts are advertised with OEM in the title.

Also note that the part number is the same exact part number that the dealership would tell you for the particular part. They also do not provide that the part you will receive is from Yec.

For the rotor, there is an obvious difference between the OEM and YEC part.

Not only do they look different, but the OEM part feels heavier. The metal used is probably of a higher quality.
The cap felt heavier too, although looks similar.

The reason I am writing this up is because I do not want fellow HT members buying parts they believe are not OEM under false advertisement. I know I am big on OEM parts and ended up buying true OEM parts again. Now I am left with an extra YEC rotor and cap. I asked for a refund but Import Replacement Parts said they would not cover shipping. We all know shipping is an expensive process and I would be out 5-10 dollars to ship it back to them and hope they would not scam me on a refund.

It is an inconvenience and I hope i save you all some troubles in the future.

yup, avoid IRP like the plague. I also got sent bogus
parts, only in my case, round trip shipping was 10 times
what you had to pay since the parts were so heavy.

I argued the point with them, but they basically said
the parts looked identical to them. Guess they must
hire blind people.

First, I work for Import Replacement Parts and would be happy to try to resolve any problems or issues you feel you've had with our company.

TeaAddict - We did not falsely advertise anything. You need to understand your terminology correctly. We advertise them as "OEM Replacement Distributor Cap" ..."Distributor Rotor". That implies it is a replacement part for OEM and that is exactly what you received. We also have an actual photo of the part on our website, so you get what you see. Anytime we sell a factory original part, it is referred to as "Genuine", i.e. "Genuine Honda" or "Genuine Acura". YEC is a Japanese company and they happen to be contacted by Honda/Acura for many of Honda's Genuine parts as well. If you would have asked us prior to ordering if this was the exact same cap and rotor as Genuine Honda/Acura, we would have said no. These parts work great, we've sold tons of YEC Cap and Rotors to many Honda/Acura enthusiasts (I use them on all my own cars as well) and they work perfectly. And lastly, if you still were expected the Genuine Honda/Acura packaged part and would wanted to have returned them, you could have, and we would have been happy to give you a full refund. Obviously you never pursued that and are making a lot of judgements about our company without even trying to resolve the issue you feel you have had with us.

kdpotato - You got "bogus parts" from us, huh? Please explain. We do not sell "bogus" or misleading parts, ever. And our shipping costs are based on weight of the items and the zipcode. We do not mark them up, either. At this point I am doubting you have ever even done business with us....

Import Replacement Parts also was a sponsor for a good 5 years here on honda-tech.com and if you look at our track record, it speaks for itself. We have hundreds, if not thousands of very satisfied customers who keep coming back and recommend their friends to us. We are an honest company, with great pricing and top notch service...that is how we've been able to continue to grow our customer base and we have a very high percentage of repeat customers. If you look around, it is very obvious that we run a good and honest business.

Never had a problem with importrp. I would ask questions through AIM or Email and always got a reply.

I feel the need to respond to this because I have ordered from ImportRP in the last 3 months. ( found the thread in a google search )

TeaAddict must have not noticed that when you choose a part to order, the title of the part also has the manufacture "Timing belt ( MITSUBOSHI ) ", "Distributor Cap ( YEC )", etc.
My experience has been excellent, I have not been cheated or scammed, and my order was not a $20 tune up order. ImportRP had the best price on a ton of stuff for my swap, ending up to be well over $800 ( clutch kit, aftermarket flywheel, new belts, seals, plugs, wires, fuel pump, more stuff... )

You can pm me with questions or if you want or proof of their packaging which has been well padded as well as packaged with the customer in mind ( not damaging gaskets and other sensitive things ), which has not been included in this review.

TeaAddict, your vehicle will run fine with that part use it next tune up!
