Yo This is Thong, I finally got my car back. I mean i am pretty glad i did.. His car was pretty beat up. Anyways Yeah i got pretty pissed at Chico PD, the way they threatened to arrest me if i didnt make it in such time. Clovis PD had my back, they said if they were to try to do something, then i have a great case. I had gotten about 60 hours of no sleep so far, and i finally got my car back. It wasnt stevens car that crashed, it was me falling asleep on the way back, i was just so exhausted from this whole ordeal, this has been 2 days of pure hell. Stevenlo, i never understood what your motive was, everything was so cool from the start. Then you completely two faced me. Straight up lied to the police about what was the TRUE story. Dude, if u wanted your car back, u shouldve just told me.

in the end i think this is what REALLY happened. As soon as i left, he called me and asked me why VTEC wasnt engaging and why was it bogging, If i had taken off with his car and "Stole" it, why were u so worried with VTEC and such?

Also when i left the car with steven, it was running on E, i asked him if he even filled up the gas tank, he told me there was 1/4 tank in there, when i came back today to look at my car, the car was still on E.

Secondly it was running on a shitty tune and the SAFC in the car was already tuned for another ecu. I cant stress that enough, i had to take my ecu i was running in the hatch home because he couldnt provide me with one.

Honestly i think steven drove the car around once, complained that it wouldnt start, (even when i came there and fired up the car myself today) and just decided he didnt want the car any more. But its just so fucked up how he SCREWED me over so badly, got around 5 detectives and police officers involved when he could of easily talked to me as an adult to just make a few compromises and at least pay for some gas for me to get back over there.. But he just makes up a huge story how i DID NOT give him my pink, told the cops i took his car for a "Test drive" and ran off, and left him a shitty car that cant even run. If the car is a piece of ****, how would it be able to make it 300 miles to chico? and how would i be so confident to just pick up my car and drive back home.
and dude... how could i test drive the damn car, when i have ALL OF MY STUFF ON THE CAR, meaning my rims, suspension, front/back lights. If we already swapped all the ****, that would mean we already reached an agreement, why would i even test the car out AFTER i put all my parts into it All in all it was a crazy *** ****** lesson learned, pink slips dont get ur *** anywhere, i tried everything to prove i should be the legal owner of the car, since i have the pink, but i guess the registered owner can still report it as stolen, complete BS

I dont know, i pretty much dont have anything else to say, steven, i was cool with you from day one, and even when we just met up a couple of hours ago, we were okay, i was adult enough to shake your hand, even though i knew deep down you were the scammer, saying i tried scamming you. Oh yeah, I left at 2:30 PM, and 3 1/2 hours later i was still stuck in sacramento traffic, traffic averaged 15MPH, and it took me FOREVER to get by. It was about 6pm, and i had called steven and left him a message stating i am stuck in traffic. He calls me back and is like dude where are you its 6 o clock. Im like hey im still on the road, hes like well u better make it here or you're gonna go to jail. Im thinking Wtf so i called up my officer from Clovis PD and hes like wtf its not even considered a stolen car, and why the expletive would Chico PD take it as a stolen car report. Well i was fed up, i called CHICO PD myself to let them know where i was at. I was crossing signs that said CHICO 70 MILES. The detective or whoever that was handling the case in Chico was like well, if u dont make it here in 45 minutes, you WILL be arrested. I was like sir, i am 70 miles away, what do u expect me to do? Hes like well u better make it here. So i was ****** fed up with Chico PD, i called up Clovis PD and talked to another officer about my consititutional rights, and they were pretty pissed off ,and told me if he continued i should talk to his superior and he would get in trouble for it

Dude after reading this whole post and **** I feel your pain to the fullest. It makes it hard to trust anyone now I'd bet. But at least you got your car back and ****. I've never dealt with business like that nor do I know of anybody whos been wronged like that. I can't believe it people these days. But yeah like everybody said once both sigs are on pink its rightfully yours without a doubt. His pink sounds awfully shady to me, if you ask me. But congrats on getting your car back.

Oh yeah for the record, his main concerns is saying i never gave him my pink slip, why would he hand me his pink slip, explain the whole process, and not expect mine in return? Then he goes to saying that one of my friends that was there with me that night stole the pink slip from him. But most of all, dude, if you REALLY did misplace it, or lose it, whats the big deal? I could easily write u a bill of sale, and get a new pink from DMV for you. Oh wait i guess calling the cops and asking for your old car back was just a better idea huh?

i never handed him the title... he must of grabbed it when i took my other documents (bill of sale, registration, insurance) out of the brown envelope. that's the only time i figured he must of grabbed it then, cause that was the only time we were at the front of his car near the lights. mean while i am showing him the other documents his 2 friends had must been putting stuff into the car and jumped in. i dont know how thieves work, but when he wanted to go on a test drive i let him. i thought he was going right down the street to walmart or something and when he gets back we could sign my bill of sale...he didnt return...so i thought to myself maybe he went to grab some masking tape while he was there. cause he mentioned getting some later on if the deal went thru. he was going to wrap the front lip so it wont get chipped.
mean time i was looking around his car, checking it out and trying to start it up...cranked but didnt start until five minutes later. i took it out for a drive and wtf the clutch was hard as expletive...engaged near the floor. i thought maybe its just out of adjustment. i put it in first and the car moves but stops because it popped out of gear. i put it back in first and it goes in...strange...i pull out of the driveway and turn towards walmart. i got about 75 ft and the car barely runs. i attempt to make a u turn but it dies again. after cranking on it, it finally starts. i put it in first and i punch it...no where...this car barely has enough power to pull itself. how in the hell did they make it here?...the motor boggs and wont rev pass 7k rpms...i was thinking maybe i should call thong and ask him whats up and why is he taking so long. i return home and i grab my cell off the garage door and called thong...i called him and didnt recieve an answer until the third try...when i got a hold of him i asked him why does the motor bogg?...and why vtec does not engage?...he said he didnt know why. he also said maybe i should try to change the ecu with mine. right as i am about to ask him where he's at, the phone is mysteriously disconnected...wtf? i tried calling him a bout a million times and no answer...thirty minutes passes...i call again, no answer! i was thinking to myself this cant be...this CANNOT be! i just got stiffed...i looked for my pink and its gone...i looked for thongs title for the car but i cant find it. i get inside and im frustrated as hell. why would he just take off like that and not sign any paper work? might have been a misunderstanding or something. so i call him again...still no answer!!! about an hour later i called the cops and explained the situation that just occured. chico police came and dusted the car and got some info.
i get a call later and thong is in fresno...frustrated as hell i tell him to bring my car back in five hours but the police officer said that that wasnt a good idea...he might be too tired and crash the car or something worse so the officer recommends that i tell him to bring me my car back at 6 pm or the stolen vehicle report is official... thong will be arrested if he shows up any later than 6 pm. i waited the whole day for his call. nothing. 6:00 pm. at about 6:01 pm i walk inside chico pd to fill the papers for a stolen vehicle when thong calls me at 6:02 pm! and tells me he's in sacramento. SACRAMENTO? by this time i thought he was playing games with me. !!!6:02!!! when i specifically told him to call me before he got to chico and before 6:00 pm. i told him to bring me my car as soon as possible and he says he cant help that there is traffic. i told the officer maybe we should give him a little bit longer cause he's in sacramento and the officer says that it is totally up to me. avoid making conversation. and get everythign in writing. i call him back and told him he has until 8:30 pm. i just want my car back. thong shows up at about 7:40 to eightish...?... looks at his car and says, "is everything there?" "is there going to be an officer here?" i said "no". he got to work taking his things off of my car and putting things back the way they came...while i was doing the same.

im glad i got my car back. i dont know what you were thinking man when you just took off like that but i dont ever finalize a sale or trade without my "BILL OF SALE"
or anything that states final sale or trade. that was your bad. why did you not give me the title? what good does that benefit you? if you took my envelope you can just say so instead of saying i handed it to you. i set it down on top the the plastic cover and you might of grabbed it! it makes you look bad. i hope you learned your lesson man. you need to get these things fixed on you car too!

another thing... who lets someone test drive the car WITHOUT them being in it? ive test drove a ton of cars and the other person has been with me every time... and when someone test drives my car, i go with them too... i would never let anyone drive my car without me being in it...

This whole ordeal seems all F*ucked up! Both car sounds like they were in rough shape but seemed there was some sort of agreement on a trade. Both party members failed communicate properly. I don't know anything about pink slips... but if you have a car title and sign it over, that's is the agreement right there for release of all previous ownership. You don't need a bill of sale for that.

I got loads of questions...

1. Was the pink slips, title, bill of sale etc signed? Seemed like Steven show Thong documents he wanted them to go over with together. Both parties was aware of legal documents as far as the story goes.

2. Where were the witnesses in this whole headache?

3. Why would you not test drive a car before trading?

4. Where were the pink slips? Who had possession before and now?

5. How long did it take for the whole trade to go down? (Time frame wise)

6. Did both parties allow for the car parts to be swapped and not acknowledge it? Im sorry but aint no one touching a car until agreement is finalized. You be stupid too.

7. Obviously both parties exchanged car KEYS! Now what does this mean?

I had 2 friends that came with me, that clearly saw everything, and were ****** baffled from this whole thing. Man if it comes down to it, they would testify for me, and tell every single little detail, of how you handed me your title, I can CLEARLY remember almost word for word what you told me

"Heres the pink slip, just fill it out, the previous owner already signed everything so you should be okay." Then as we did this, i saw his registration papers with HIS name on it. so i was like "Wait, so this car is under your name now? so that means you have the title now, and its under your name right?" then he tells me its in the mail. But he goes "Wait, here is a transfer of Vessels paper, just fill this out and turn it in, it will automatically void my other pink slip." Okay good enough, i handed him my pink, and was like heres my pink, just fill in your portion too"



So yeah after all of that, we were like yeah man, thanks for everything.

Whats even more shitty, the owner of the house tried scamming me. At the end of the night, he brought out a video camera, and wanted to make reference of what had just occured. So i gladly agreed, i was like "My name is Thong Pham, I am the owner of this white Honda Civic, blah blah, I received my vehicle exactly how i left it, and i am satisfied with it, everything should be now cleared etc etc. Then the home owner goes
"This is my house, i let you guys use it, this was just an open garage for you guys to do your exchange, now if my house gets vandalized, my windows are broken, or something is missing, you take full responsibility okay"

I was like WHOAAA wait a minute, I AM NOT ****** RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT GOES ON, but i told them no no, we dont want no problems, i got the car the way i left it, and there is no reason at all to cause trouble, everything was settled. Thank god i paid attention to what that man was saying, or he would of royally scammed me the same way his relative STEVENLO did.

Oh yeah you keep complaining how the car ran so shitty, but how come i drove that thing off without a hitch. Only problem i had was starting the car because the battery died, but thats about it. The car runs fine just the way i left it.

i have delt with Steven before and he was VERY honnest with me, and we had no problems with the transaction and titles and amoney through the 2 days i met him i could vouch for a good honnest person to deal with
i drove dam near 1000 miles to do the transaction.
while on the way down he called me and let me know the bumper was cracked i was ok with that since i was goin to remove the kit anyway. a month later he drove up to pick up some wheels that where included int he trade deal and he gave me cash and for the broken bumper and bought me lunch.. i couldnt think of one thing bad to say about him so hopefully everything gets resolved.
