Not trying to be mean, but you do not know what you are talking about, and I am assuming my his comments, neither does Mr. Joe….and you never will until you try to build something of this caliber.
Last post and I disappear from this thread. Feel free to PM
Turbo is only reliable when done right, which is very expensive.
We all know:
Reliable and Cheap
Cheap and Fast
Fast and Reliable
Just to put into perspective with some extremely conservative low *****
$3000.........Clean Title Civic SI in good condition
$3000.........Sleeved, Built Block (Realistically more like $5000+)
$2000.........Built Head
$1000.........Rebuilt GSR Trans
$1000.........Precision Turbo (New)
$1000.........Skunk2 Suspension
$1000.........Fuel System (Lines, pumps, FPR, Injectors)
$1000.........5.9 Axles
$1000.........Quality, Equal lengths manifold
That makes $14K just in those pieces alone.
Lets say you buy it all used off of someones part out and get everything for $10K.
You still have BOV,WG, Intercooler, Piping, Catch Can, Oil Lines, ECU, machine work, Gaskets/ARPs, Exhaust, brakes, suspension (control arms, ball joints, bearing, etc)…..I could go on.
All these parts (if quality) and the tons of misc I didnt mention can easily rack up another $5K not to mention TUNING AND DYNO TIME
O and BTW it takes more than a weekend, and your buddy who egay turboed his D series (that blew up) one time, to put something like this together.
I apologize for the rant, but I am getting tired of never swapped/stock b series swapped people who have no idea what goes into a real swap/build saying they can turbo this for $2k and K swap that for $4K when they have no idea what they are talking about.
You never get back what you put in, true.
I just hope the lookers here realize you cant even buy all the parts here for under $15K, not even considering assembling, building and tuning it all.
Sorry, peace
PS OP you could be a little less of a dick hahahaha, dont let those haters make you mean

Re: For Sale 663WHP 1999 Honda Civic SI
Three things come to mind when I see your asking price...
1) You don't understand how cars sales work. The more maintenance a vehicle requires, the lower the price will be unless it's an actual collectible with heavy demand, like that Vette someone wanted to make jokes about. Being that this car is so far removed from OEM/stock, it's maybe worth half of what you are asking... I.E. the used parts price would be worth more than the car in one piece.
2) Being so inflexible as not wanting to part with the spare trans because you think it has some magical deal thing is fine, but it's not going to make this deal any better. I can buy an all stock S2000 with what you are asking and still have money left over along with a better platform.
3) I don't see $30K there unless you paid someone else to do all of the work, in which case, you wasted thousands of dollars... You are going to have to come to terms with that. Add in that you were being a ***** about it, GLWS. I know I wouldn't pay $14k for what amounts to a 15 year old Honda ECONOMY car, even if the engine is worth more than the chassis by several orders of magnitude. I hope a lesson was learn.
P.S. Your pictures are not in compliance with the forum rules.

Thank You Sonin Fury, There are alot of bored and miserable people out there, Listen I'm a realist, i didnt build this to make a profit, I built it to enjoy the build and I love it, I know you dont get back what you put into it not even close thats how hobbies work, come to terms that you will lose money but have fun. Anyone interested in a well built car and knows what it takes to build one will appreciate this car and even if it doesnt sell for the 14, offer at least something reasonable, I have been offered 10K at least 6 times which i turned down due to not needed the money bad, Someone tell me what a GSR with LSD cost?, then add the carbon synchros, then add someone opening the tranny and doing the work, and a spare tranny on the side with the same, and DSS 5.9 axels? axels alone are $1800. Listen to the haters get a life, to anyone else please bump for a well built car or offer something resonable, I just dropped the price a little, email me at feendady921@hotmail.com for details.

Re: For Sale 663WHP 1999 Honda Civic SI
It is a nice car and yes I am sure you spent a lot of money on this car. I have a 240 hp all motor hatch in my garage so I know it takes a ton of time and money to get things correct.
But to keep things real - take the car crash it until it hits a totaled status and what money the Insurance company will give you is what the car is worth. That is plain and simple.
For a 99 civic I would be surprised if you could get more than 7,000. Check KBB and see..
GLWS - I hope you do find the right person to take this off of your hands.

There is so much I dont know where to start.....
comparing an FULLY built, sleeved, boosted, dyno tuned project to an "All Motor" swap.......
Or saying book values have anything to do with built/swapped cars worth....
Anyways bump for OP

Re: For Sale 663WHP 1999 Honda Civic SI
14k is fair for this build. May get a few grand less but it's in the ball park. Everyone wants to sell their intake and exhaust SI for 8k....this is a fair price.
Ignore the keyboard tough guys who just can't help themselves. Stick to your asking price. You'll get something around that.

People with money know a good deal when they see one. People with money also don't waste time crying about things they aren't educated about. Sounds like a fair asking price. Your market just happens to be a little more refined than the general crowd around here. Let the haters talk all they want...they're just talking the talk, but you sir are walking the walk.

Re: For Sale 663WHP 1999 Honda Civic SI
Some friendly advice, take it or leave it.
I would strongly advise you clean the car up and take nice pictures. Get a friend to do it if you're not a picture guy. That is the single most important thing you can do with a sale like this. Inside, outside, wheels/tires, video of the car running... it all helps tell the story of the car and conveys a sense of pride for the new owner
The picture of the parts when they were new really doesn't help much, but its nice that you have them.
Anyone buying this car is looking to feel good about the quality of the parts and the overall package. The fact that you're too busy to go take nice pictures is an immediate turn off. Remember many of the prospective buyers will be out of state. The price you are asking is about what the car is worth parted out +-2k... so again it needs to be turn key and in good shape otherwise someone is just getting into a can of worms/potentially a lot more money to tune, alignment, tires, you get the point.
I paid $8500 for a 750whp coupe two years ago, all the parts were there and it ran... but it needed to be tuned, and needed a cage, and the overall quality of the car/paint suspension and other parts left quite a bit to be desired. So I parted it out and made a few K. I would have never paid more for the car as I built in some profit with the purchase price.
A few months ago, I picked up a super clean hatch (575whp) for 12k... i paid quite a bit more for this car as the actual car was very nice, had a cage, fully built and super nice.
Good luck with your sale. Hope this helps
