Default Lancer Evolution- 2.3 Stroker, GT30R, 1,200 miles! (SF Bay Area)

I'm putting my Evo up for sale. The 2.3 stroker motor was completed in October of 2009, and in the past 8 months, I've put 1,200 miles on the new motor and the first 1000 miles was put within the first week and the other 100 was driving to and from getting the car tuned, the rest was just randomly driving around. It just doesn't make sense to be paying $600 every month for the car payment and insurance on a car I never drive anymore. I bought an Integra to drive around when I was waiting for the motor to get built, but even now, I drive my integra 99.9% of the time, and at this point, i only turn the Evo on and drive it around the block once a week just to keep the battery and everything alive (Although sometimes I forget and 9 out of 10 times, the battery is dead by the time I want to drive it. Thus is the life of using a mini battery. lol.)

I purchased this Evo from the owner, Devin, of Speed Element Performance nearly 3 years ago. The car is smogged and ready to go AND Registration has been taken care of until April of 2011 also! The only thing this car needs is a new front lip, since the one on there is cracked from bottoming out.

**The car has a brand new clutch/flywheel, new pads and rotors (only been on the car for around 5k miles), as well as very new tires (90% tread), so you don't need to worry about replacing wear and tear items any time soon.

All installation work was done at Speed Element Performance in Fremont and tuning was done by Full Function in Hayward. The motor is freshly built and only has around 1,200 miles on it.

On 91 octane, it made 400whp/380wtq on a Mustang Dyno at 25psi on 91 octane at Full Function in Hayward. I'm sure on racegas or E-85, it'll break 500whp just fine, but I haven't had the chance (or motivation) to get it tuned on race gas.

I'm looking to get 24k for the car.

HOWEVER: I am willing to trade for the following cars + cash:

* Please note that the car following cars need to be in stock or near stock form, as the area I am moving to next year is very high in cop activity.

**To be fair, if your car is in good condition, I will do blue book of whatever your car is worth + cash to meet my price.

-05-06 RSX Type S in silver, blue, white, or that MM color.
-AP2 S2000 in white with either black or tan interior, other colors may be ok, but for sure, I do NOT want that light blue, yellow, or red.
-06/07 WRX in any color but blue, preferably white
-G35
-IS350
-TSX (preferably in white)
-DC2 Integra Type R in white
E46 BMW M3

A LOT of time, effort, and money was spent on this car to make it was it is. I'm confident the new owner of the car will be blown away by the power and handling of the car. I think you'd have a VERY hard time finding better performing car for the money... especially considering the money that was put into this Evo in just parts (I added it up, and I have a bit over 35k in parts), it'd probably take a bit over 50k to buy an cheap-o Evo and replicate this car.

My girlfriend thinks I'm crazy, but I really want an RSX. It's much more practical for what I need, since I'm going to start commuting to San Jose from San Francisco next year (about a 40 minute commute every day, maybe worse with traffic), and I want a more comfortable and gas efficient car. Not to mention that I heard San Jose cops aren't very Evo friendly. lol. I know it's a long shot, but I'd LOVE a 05-06 RSX-S to trade this Evo with.

You should not have an issue getting close to your asking price, car looks like it was built with only quality items.

I think your out of your mind, and you should listen to your girlfriend. I had a an 06 type s and traded that thing in for my evo. I understand your commute and not wanting to drive it because of the stif ride, but i know for sure once you start driving that RSX your ganna kick yourself in the a**. Dont get me wrong, I loved the type s and I wish I could still have it. Its a verry clean sexy looking car, but you have an EVO there is no correlation. Its a down grade for sure in my opinion. Not just with the RSX, but with all the cars you listed... keep the car!

Thank you everyone, for the kind words!

The car really was built with a lot of thought and care. I am not one who hates "fake stuff" (ie: rotas, megan racing, or whatever), but regardless, I always try to buy the best parts I can within my budget.

Yeah. I know what you're saying, and that would probably be 100% true if I were driving the Evo. However! I've actually been daily driving a 97 Integra LS for the past year. In my opinion, any of those cars I've listed will be an upgrade to the Integra LS. lol. I haven't driven the Evo is so long, it doesn't even feel like my car anymore... it feels more like a giant decoration piece in my garage. I'll admit, that when I DO get around to driving it, it really is very very amazing. The the power and handling really is something else, and I'm sure I will regret it after I sell. I'm sure once I get a stable career going, I'm almost positive I'm going to buy another Evo and rebuild it to the exact same spec.

As much as I'd really love to keep the Evo, I'd also really love to be able to pay rent and be able to afford groceries if I end up moving early next year. lol.

Some more pics of the fenders, doors, and rear quarter panels of the car for those of you who are super **** about the exterior condition of the car. The previous owner did drive the car to LA a lot, so there are rock a couple rock chips on the hood and one of the driver side fender (as you can see in the first pic.) Still, this Evo looks MUCH better than most 2003 Evo's I've seen.

I am one of those people who are super **** about where I park, and I WILL park at the ungodly far edge of a parking lot where no one wants to walk to, just to avoid getting any door dings/dents.

Here's some pics of the fruits of my extra labor. NO DINGS or DENTS!

lol. I'm no longer looking for a fast car. I'm just looking for something that wont cause me any cop trouble if/when I move.

I haven't fully decided if I'm going to be commuting or straight out moving, but either way, this Evo won't be the right car for either situation.

Thanks for the offer, but 20k is a bit too much of a hit to take.

Bro, i would jump all over that 20k offer. That is a solid offer for that car, in this market. JMO as someone who knows the evo market well.

ah, I see. Well I have a couple people interested, so maybe if that doesn't pan out, I might be able to do it. Although, if it gets to that point, I may just end up parting the car out. I was just hoping I wouldn't have to, because I think it's a great car the way it is and was hoping someone else could enjoy it for me. lol.
