Default FS: "Skidsteak" LS400 5spd drift yacht - A.A.R.P. Edition

So the time has come to part ways with my LS400. This car has come to be known as “The Skidsteak”. There is a long story behind that, and if you come buy the car I will entertain you with it, but for now lets get into the meat and bones.

I bought this car in December of 2012. The progression of the swap was documented in my build thread which I've linked below. The goal of the car was to have a fun to drive, slideable, big body V8 sedan. Well the goal was achieved, however it turns out that as much fun as drifting is its not worth it to me when the only drift events around now are +3hrs drive so I have turned my attention to purchasing a home.

Now take some time to check out the build thread if you're really that interested in acquiring this somewhat unique & rare vehicle, and check out the photos below, along with the FAQTRPMOIYABYWTFLTRF as to avoid having me rage quit the internet from idiotic comments that have already been answered.

A few noteworthy things about this car;
  1. It has a functional speedometer. Took me a few months of researching and trying to find information which is a cake walk on the Nissan side of the swap, next to impossible on the Toyota side since no one mod's these cars. Toyota and Nissan use difference frequency and types of waves and whatnot which lead to this being damn near impossible. Its now working and calibrated by GPS.
  2. Comes with an exhaust silencer, which SUBSTANTIALLY quiets the car down making it completely tolerable to daily drive if you so choose to do. It also has full interior and sound deadening which helps keep it very quiet.
  3. Car runs rich @ WOT. It could do with an SAFC tune, which would also gain a solid 30whp/40wtq.
  4. H-vac LCD screen is non functional. Happens to all these older LS's. H-vac still works fine.
  5. You can drift it with 5 people, without a single **** to be given.
  6. The motor will never break, ever, ever. Ever.
  7. It costs next to nothing to insure because the only people that drive it are AARP members.

In the process of building the car, I wanted to lower the weight substantially so I removed some of the systems I deemed useless, and added a bunch of modifications for driving "enhancement" if you will. The final result is a car that weighs ~3400lbs, down from the original curb weight I had it measured at of 3820. Keep in mind that is retaining ALL interior luxuries/amenities it came with besides heated seats. The massive sunroof still works, power tilt column, keyless entry, etc. If you gut the inside of the car, including the dual layer sound deadening, you're looking at ~2800.

The car is a blast to drive. Once you get used to the sheer size of it, its an odd sensation when you start to realize that it feels significantly more nimble than it looks. Obviously there is some slop from the stretched soft sidewall tires, but for what it is its genuinely impressive and fun. The ride is extremely smooth for a car on low pro's and coilovers. Rides better than my Mini on Pilot Super Sports and Koni's w/ springs. The highlight of this thing though is the mind **** effect it has with the general public. Nothing puts a smile on your face more (besides clutch kicking and getting it abso****inglutely sideways) than seeing peoples reactions when the last thing they expect to see when they look over is a gigantic land yacht leaving port. Their “mind blown” reactions are priceless.

Few things to note as "Bad" on this car:
  1. The mainshaft bearing in the trans on the car is howling. It needs to be replaced, or you could just clutch kick the **** out of it until it explodes. A second spare good trans is included in this sale. Swapping them out will take a competent mechanic no more than 3 hours.
  2. The rear diff was welded unevenly. The guy who did it clearly didn't know how to weld both sides evenly so it shakes on the highway a bit. You could take it off and even it out, or replace it with one welded by someone who has done them before.
    Edit: I will be replacing the diff as I'm getting a parts car soon.
  3. Secondary o2 on passenger side broke off. Bung is fine, but the physical sensor broke in half. OBD1, so yolo.
  4. Had a tire blow out during an event in spectacular fashion, so the metal chord in the tire left tiny scratches in the clear coat on the rear quarter. Most will buff out, but at the end of the day its a purpose built drift car. Yolo applies here also.

(Frequently Asked Questions That Really **** Me Off If You Ask Because You Were Too ****ing Lazy To Read First.)

Q: What transmission does the car have?

A: S13/14 KA 5 speed transmission.
--------------------------------------------------

Q: Does it have a clean title?

A: Yes.
--------------------------------------------------

Q: Whats included along with the car?

A: Besides how the car is currently sitting, I will include; 1x S13 5spd , 1x S14 5spd that will need bearings replaced, 8x 16” wheels for big drifties.
--------------------------------------------------

Q: What makes this car unique or rare? Its just a big old Lexus that doesn't have donks on it that isn't blasting 2Chainz through 0% tints.

A: This particular car had a genetic mutation occur when it hit puberty. Instead of acquiring giant Donks, or airbags and JDM Donks it instead lost half of its exhaust, and grew a man pedal. As far as I can tell through all the research I did there are <10 of these cars driving with a manual transmission.
--------------------------------------------------

Q: Why is the price so high?

A: Drift Tax.
--------------------------------------------------

Q: Will you accept partial trade plus cash?

A: Yes, on the following items;
  • 1911's (not stupid ****ing airsoft toys, I'm not 16. And no ****ty Para Ord. or Rock Island)
  • Euros
  • British Sterling Pounds
  • United States Dollars
--------------------------------------------------

Price = $6,500 obo.

As per rules: VIN JT8UF11E9N0120952

Only trades I'll entertain are an S2000, 6spd TL-S, or something with an LSD obviously plus cash on my end. That or a shitty truck + cash on yours.

Now let the awesomeness commence.
