Re: 1993 Civic SI - MINT
Ouch. I understand it was optioned without A/C, but that's going to hurt the sale. People strip A/C when they do all-out builds a lot, but the niche for this car would have been someone looking for a stock, OEM example.
I know we visited the use of "mint" already, but man, MINT is MINT. That's a $900.00 car engine bay. I'd make it match the rest of the car, which is clean.I would absolutely get some 50/50 diluted Simple Green, hose that bay down with it, use a soft bristled brush with a bucket of soapy water, and scrub everything down. Hose off, start engine and let steam. Be sure to cover the distributor with a plastic bag bungee'd or taped on as to avoid water getting inside the cap, and causing nasty misfires.
You also need to top off that p/s fluid. It's well below the "low" line. That would make me question the condition of the rack and pinion, and P/S pump/seals. I'd check for a leak. It also calls into question the general care taken of the vehicle in general.
The hood isn't even painted on the under side, fender isn't painted on the jam, etc. this isn't a collector car to remain stock at this point. does the core support have the original "Honda of Canada" sticker near the hole for the hood latch? The picture cuts that part off.
I'm not trying to be a dick, but this is a $2,000.00 car as-is. It's an excellent car to start a project, or transfer all parts from a wrecked shell, etc. but unfortunately it's not a mint stock example people are looking for to drive daily, or store away hping that the values rise on mint unmolested examples.
