Default Engine Braking Noise/Rubbing

My car has developed a noise when engine braking that sounds like a rubbing or (very high frequency) grinding of something that is spinning. It will mostly only do it on the initial release of the throttle from high RPM. There will be one or a few "rubs" from the shock of releasing the throttle and it's only from about 5,000 RPM upward. It is the worst in lower gears, probably because the deceleration is greater. I also think I can feel it near the pedals/firewall area, but I'm not positive on that.

I've been under the car multiple times and cannot see any signs of rubbing. The transmission has fresh Honda MTF in it and I've checked the level. It works perfectly fine otherwise, without grinding or other noises. A new clutch and axle were installed recently but it had started before that. I'm also not sure if it's related to this:

My thoughts/fear is that it's all in the transmission somewhere and I wanted to see if this has happened or sounds familiar to anyone.

I will try to have a video posted later that will hopefully make the issue clearer.
