Default Ek9 clicking noise diff/axles??? HELP PLEASE!

Hello Guys,

I recently swapped my mission with a close gear one, I had a Cusco MZ on the old one and this one came with a SPOON LSD.
I'm hearing a clicking noise when i make turns, [it doesn't happen on mild turns, but on, let's say 90 degrees turns it starts clicking].
At first I thought it was the axle not seated properly, [which it was also], but then i reseated the axle [tranny side] correctly and the problem still persist.
When turning, everytime it clicks, you can feel it. When it clicks while turning, it tries to turn the steering towards center, and I have to force it into the turn.
What do you think it could be? bad differential? axle again?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Mario.

Sounds to me axles are to long, would cause binding when turning, or the lsd is not working properly. Does it do this under load?Does it do it when coasting ,ie neutral. How old are the axles?

the ek9 is an original one, so no swap of any kind, ek axles as well. Yes, it only does that under load; i put the car on a lift, ran through all the gears just fine, turned left, right. on the ground, the car in neutral doesn't make any clicking noise. as soon as i put it in gear the clicking starts. only on mid/sharp turns.
I replaced the axles with brand new ones honda.

Ok, I narrowed it down to the drive shaft axle being popped out.
changed C clip on the inner cv joint with a new one, tried to put the axle back in, made sure it was seated correctly, it seats but when you try to pull it out with bare hands it doesn't pop out, but apple just a slight pressure with a big flat head and here it is...out again.
So i tried with another axle borrowed from a friend. Same problem. it has to deal with something on the differential.
Any Suggestions? By the way i'm taking apart the old tranny. I might try to fit my old Cusco MZ that never had given me any problems.

Yea sounds like the limited slip diff is not releasing properly, have you tried jacking the front wheel, just one side and try to rotate one wheel with the other on the ground? Can you rotate it,check both sides, you should be able to rotate, with mild effort. If you can't then either its spooled, or lsd is just f up,hope that helps

It is typical for most Clutch/Plate Type differentials to make a clicking/chattering noise in low speed/tight turns. You can help remedy this with fluid additives like friction modifiers specifically for Differentials. We use the Torco F-Type friction modifier with the MFactory metal plate LSD units.

thank you all for your comments, turns out to be the lsd.
Apparently the SPOON 1,5 way is set cold to 9,5 kg vs my CUSCO MZ set to 5 kg.
After doing some research I found out that it's typical for clutch plate lsd's to make this noise in their break in period. You will need to make figure 8's in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear for a respective amount of time. Since I found the SPOON to be more race oriented only, i swapped it for my more pleasant daily drive Cusco.

To answer James I use Royal Purple MaxGear 75-140 that has friction modifier in it.
