Would you drive another 10000km on a 10000 km old honda oil filter?
Ever since I've owned my 2010 CRV EX, I've always had the oil and OIL FILTER changed by the same Honda dealership about every 10000 km.
Yesterday (at about 120000 km) seem to be a different story. I was told by the svc advisor that there would be no charge on the oil change (something about being a platinum card holder as indicated on the service record...which I have no clue about). I was like...great...it's free (I also requested for a rear diff fluid change).
Shuttled home. They call me few hours later, saying the car is ready. Shuttle picked me up and drove me back to dealership. Svc advisor showed me the service record and quickly told me what was done. I didn't pay much attn to the service record. Paid for it...which was only for the rear diff fluid change.
When I got home, I noticed that there is NO indication of "oil filter" anywhere in the oil change section of the service record. All that was indicated were Maint Symbol A (PKA), Washder Drain 14mm (94109-14000), and 4.5L oil (HXD5W20). I looked back at my previous records and I see 0W-20 OIL/FILTER (PK51), OIL FILTER (15400-PLM-A02), WASHER DRAIN 14 MM (94109-14000), and 0W20 SYNTHETIC (HXD0W20).
So couple of things: if it's true based on the svc record, they didn't change the oil filter...PLUS...they used 5W20 oil instead of 0W20.
I called the svc department back and all I got was VM for the specific svc advisor. I left a voice mail asking him to call back since I got a question about my oil change. He never did.
Thoughts?
