Is it worth it? $1650 for B18c bottem end, gsr head, tranny...ect.
I told my buddy I would buy his motor from him for $1650, He told me it was a b18c fully type r motor. He lied about a couple other things as well.... like how fast he ran in the 1/4mile. First it was a 15.5 in his integra and he really ran a 16.2. I want to know if its worth $1650 even though its basicallly a stock gsr. B18c bottem end, stock gsr head, skunk 2 intake, MSD wires. Full motor except power steering and a/c. Engine harness, LS tranny in good condition, p72 type R ecu, and a blown b16 tranny. Motor supposably has 7,000 miles on it, smokes a little in v tech though. Drove the car and motor and tranny very smooth, nothing wrong with them. I just want to know if I am getting screwed or not. Seeings how I told him I would buy it before I found out that he lied about a few things.

This sounds like nothing but trouble to me. A gsr longblock that "smokes a little" with an LS tranny, from a known lier. I'd pass.

Honestly if he lied about stuff before I would not mess with it. You know he says it has 7000 and really it has 70000 beat to hell miles. I would avoid the headache. Unless you lower your price get all the stuff you claim in the description. Then take the motor and tranny and rebuld them both

Yeah thats what I am thinking, I tried to get him to go down to $1350 but he said he wouldn't take a dime under $1650. I should have know to not deal with a friend, if it was anyone else I would just say I'm not interested in it anymore... its to much.

walk away, dont be afraid to stand up for yourself. Tell him your not interested in it for that price and if he wants to come down on price to give you a call. Then wish him goodluck with the sale. nuff said, you dont need to justify or explain why you wont spend $1650 on it.

I have to agree, you can go to a pick&pull and do better, I found a 1.8L LS with stock 5 speed in a 94 Integra and only 52,000K on it, got it all for $900 CDN, also got a bunch of other parts.
I would not be interested, at just about any price, on an engine that smokes, [at any time] has been bagged on, [drag racing] from someone that bullshits about it, friend or no friend. 94

Yep found out today that it has 56,000 miles on it. Just another thing he lied about, you guys were right. I'm telling him today that I'm not going to buy it.

i went through a similar deal with my buddy. when i had my accord i bought a jdm h22a, lightweight flywheel and mugen header from him for 850 which i thought was a great deal. the downside was the mileage was unknown and it wasnt a full swap. we swapped it in, but towards the end he gave up and quit helping after we ran into some problems. it ultimately cost me our friendship and we no longer talk which sucks. heres my advice-tell him you dont want it like you said, you dont have to explain your reasoning, even if he's a buddy. its your money...spend it wisely.
