Default Suspension is terrible with new racing springs

Guys help me out...I installed the new H&R Racing springs on my 94 civic ex coupe. I have a 2.75 inch drop in the front and 2.50 in the rear. The installation went well and I put everything the way it goes and its secure but now.....when I drive I feel like I have no cushion on the car. When I hit a pot hole no matter how small or big it is the car BANGSSSSS terribly....why is this...I have the springs installed with the rear and front cambers also but they are mounted on the stock struts/shocks. Could it be that the stock struts/shocks can't handle the 2.75 and 2.50 inch drops? Would I need new performance struts...if so which should I get and if not then what can the problem be???help...i went from good suspension to hard knock...hehe

Stock dampers will not last long with that kind of drop. But stiffer springs will make it a rougher ride theres no way around that. What are the spring rates? Those sound like a ridiculous drop.

The springs go 2.75 front and 2.50 rear...not sure on rate...would have to check paper that came with it (still at work ;-) )....the drop is perfect...no wheel well hits whatsoever and have good clearance for tires and pot holes...the tire does not touch the well at all on bumpy roads...but those bangs are bad...so will i need some struts?...how does kyb sound?

your shock absorber has no where to go, and then boom, it hits, same **** is happening to me on my 91 hatch, i have a 3" drop in the front and 2.75"in the back
i'm investing in some KYB gas shocks for my ride you should do the same.

thats what happens when you drop your car to impress people. no car should be dropped 2.75 inches. your KYB shocks will blow just as soon. but hey, your ride it tizzzzzite y0!

Using oem components in an altered system, they cannot function beyond their original design. Basically you need aftermarket struts to go with those springs. The strut rods in those oem struts are too long and bottom out with that amount to ride height reduction and suspension travel.

Rates on those springs are probably around 450f/290r, at least that is what the rates were on my H&R race springs on a 95 hatch. Koni yellows work great with those springs.

When you changed the springs did you take out the bump stops? It sounds like your shocks won't last very long. They weren't made to be dropped that much. Good luck w/ getting it fixed.

you were supposed to shorten the bumpstops as well. even agx's wont last long with that extreme of a drop. might wanna look into koni yellows instead, or best thing is to just get something 2" or less. couple that with agx's and the ride will be great

yeah your agx's won't last either with that extreme of a drop. you better get springs that drops it about 2" or less because you'll experience some headaches in the long run.
