All of them up to this point had to have the cams to set the centerlines that Skunk2 designed or they would not idle well and were way down on power on the dyno. I used to get the actual degree wheel out and cam degree fixture set-up and measure everything, but after the first 5-6 cars I noticed a trend on about where the cam gears needed to be set in order to be correct. This was true for the Pro 2's and Pro 3's as well.
This particular set of Pro 1's came in our newest batch from Skunk2. The car started and idled like stock with them set at 0,0 on the gears. I was a little confused, as every single other car with the Pro 1's had to have them degreed before I could achieve anything close to the idle quality this had (was pulling full -20 inHg at idle and purring at 1,000 rpm even). I set the gears around where the centerlines need to be and the idle was terrible, it was barely able to pull -10 inHG. I doubled checked everything again on the gear settings and restarted the car, and it was still idling terrible. I put the gears back to 0,0 and the car idled like stock again.
About 6 months ago Tony from Skunk2 had told me that they were going to revise the Pro series cams to be a drop in cam with the centerlines to work with the gears set at 0,0 so that they did not need to be degreed anymore. This was largely due to the general population of the pro series cam users not having access to the degreeing equipment. These apparently must be the revised cams, because there is no way that the car would have ran as well as it did without being at the designed centerlines. I have baselined other cars in the past using the stock OEM cam gears on the Pro 1's and lost both spool and huge amounts of power."
how can I tell which version they are so I can set the cam gears initial setting properly.
heres the pictures I don't have the info sheet for them

Re: skunk2 pro1 cams question
take it to dyno and find out nobody is goona be able to tell you where your engine starts dropping power.
they are not drop in cams you have to degree them if you building a motor then start a build thread and ask questiosn there
