Re: P28 identifications ????? (sparkz)
I have never seen the letter 'G' at the end of the part number on a P28 ECU. I have seen L and, of course, A. But, never G.
You have any pics?

Re: P28 identifications ????? (kenji)
I see the G leter almost everytime i've a ECU in hand.
Our P06, P28 and P30 ECU's in Europe have almost everytime the G on it.
I've seen a P28G02 once in a German del Sol. (sohc, vtec, 120 hp)
A automatic ECU is labled with a "5" after the letter. I.e. P28G52 would be a automatic ECU.

Are you sure the 37820-P28-A00 is for automatic, because it's was suppose to be for manuel (this is what the seller said !!!!!!!!).

Re: P28 identifications ????? (kenji)
I will try to post for tomorow some pics of this ecu !!
Some guys said me that it's impossible to have the sockets already installs and ready for receive the chip, they said I need to install the sockets, but I really have those two socket and it's seem to be built like this (stock).
This is the full information on the Label:
37820-P28-G02
766-308423

Re: P28 identifications ????? (jack25racing)
my bad, i thought i had one with an A00 p28. it could perhaps be manual. but anyway, theres no difference between auto and manual since they can be converted. the one i have ends with A52 and originally came from an automatic. i coverted it to manual.

Re: P28 identifications ????? (CHEETAH)
Thanks guys for all your informations.
I have an other question for you, do you have any suggestion for the best power chip to use for my lsvtec. Do you thing I will give real power to rev over 9000 rmp and what about the advance of the timing (+3 degree)?
This is my Baby:
-B16A head with intake monifold and b18 injector
-Crower camshafts stage 2 (need dual spring and ti retainer)
-ITR piston and water pump
-Aem cams gear and cold-air-intake
-DC sport 4-1 header
-Tanabe Hyper Medaillon Exhaust system
-B&M fuel regulator and gauge
-Apexi V-AFC

The Honda rom table uses the same fuel and timing value after 8975, I'm working on editing it past that as I think Hondata is able to do it, although on the HD entry table where you input a value after that threshold, I never see the timing change past 9KRPM when on the dyno and shinning a timing light while the car is running.
With the dc header and b&m regulator, i wouldnt rev past 8500rpm. Maybe lil higher with the jdm dc collector.
what do you mean by +3 degrees ? the entire timing map is modified and varies based on rpm, load, coolant tem, air temp andif KS input is avaialble (not in the case of p28).

Re: P28 identifications ????? (CHEETAH)
I really love this kind of explanation, thanks you very much !!!!
I don't really know more what's the best think to do if I want extract some good hp of my car, my plan was to find good chip and after I will try to tune this on dyno but before spend this money I want to be sure I do the right thing, I need to understand why with dc header and fpr a can't rev over 8500 and I also have 98 gsr ecu so if I can't rev more higher then gsr do you think the p28 ecu will be better then the gsr ecu. I decide to bought p28 ecu because I of the knock sensor and vtec pressure swich, but it's propably not very difficult to install those sensor.
Gsr ecu vs p28 ???
My question for the advance timing was because when I asked the specs of the chip on ebay, I received those information:
$40 for the chip kit. and the specs are: (JUN)
redline 9700 (seem to be a little bit hight !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
vtec 5800
+3 on timming (?????)
no speed limit
