My radiator fan is not working and I am having overheat problem in traffic. I read some of the threads regarding this, and they said to "jump" the fan to see if it's working. How exactly do you do that? Also, couple people recommend if the fan is working I should just wire it through a switch so I can have it on and off whenever I want. Any of you guy have a write up about this?

The fan connector has a power and ground to it. If you pull the connector for it and apply battery volts to the power side, it should run. The temp sensor for the fan completes the circuit to ground when the engine gets hot enough if it's working. You could just run a wire from the sensor, to a switch, and the other leg to ground to turn it on and off manually. But first, I would make sure the cooling system is working as designed. Thermostat ok, no air in coolant, no leaks, radiator ok, etc.

phew finally an answer!

yea, I know for sure th STAT is working. I am trying to see if it's the FAN or Thermostat switch. If it's the swtich i'll just replace that.

Where is the fan connector located at?

The fan connector should be within a few inches of the fan itself. Shouldn't be hard to find. That is the point where you would power the fan directly from the battery to make sure it works. The actual location of thermo sensor for the fan is another story. Could be under the distributor or on the back of the block. I don't want to guess.

what kind of vehicle do you have? the fan switch is usually a 2 prong sensor coming out of the block, on mine its near the oil filter. pull the wires off, and jump the two wires with cotter pin or wire or something, and the fan should turn on with the key ON, if not check your fuse. if its your fuse, replace it, and jump wires again. if it blows than its your fan motor, replace it and retest.

I fixed my problem.

It came out to be a bad Thermostat switch on the Thermostat housing. Bought a new one from Honda for 45 bucks.

A little piece of **** like THAT for 45 BUCKS!!!
