HELP, DISTRIBUTOR BROKE, PEICES IN ENGINE
Ok, so as the title says, my distributor (correct me if I'm wrong) shaft wasn't on the entire way when I put it back on after troubleshooting my car (89 Honda CRX with a D16Z6) and cranked it. I immediately knew it felt different after I cranked it (I only cranked it two-three times). And when I came back to check what happened I pulled my dizzy off and noticed that the ends were chipped. I opened up the top and couldn't find the pieces that fell into the engine, but that might have been because it was dark. I am going to reopen it in the morning and drain the motor oil and see if I can find it and then I am going to go buy a new disay from orileys
I need to know where I would most likely fine them, and if possible any tips on how to flush all the pieces out of my engine.
I could only get one picture because my phone died after being out side for the entire day working on it.

Wow, that thing does not want to go on 180 degrees off. It must have either been really crooked, or really difficult to get in there and only partially tightened. It only goes on one way! LOL, that is a new one. hmmmm
Advice:
Wait for the sun to come out and diligently search for your missing pieces. A telescopic magnet or other strong magnet might be helpful. Aside from completely dissembling your D16, here is no way to flush them out of your engine. There is a fair chance that you will not get everything out and if you do not then you will likely end up spinning a bearing or something else catastrophic will happen. That is the reality here. Just try your best and take your time. Pull the valve cover off and start there. Follow all torque specifications and proper sequences when reassembling any part of your engine. The Haynes manual is your friend. Who knows, it might just be one decent sized chunk that is readily apparent and easily removable. Cross your fingers and hope you dodged a bullet.
