Default fix it ticket for modified exhaust?south cali

wel i dont know if this is the right place to post this but

by the way im in south cali so any one from here pls help since different states have different laws

i got pulled over and got a ticket for "modified exhaust" with code 27151 and "yes" was checked on the check box under where it says "correctable violation"
after a month i got a mail and the fine was 300 bucks!!!wtF!

so my question is what do i do?
do i need to bring the car to get it inspected?
do i need to convert the car to N/A (car is boosted)and put the oem muffler back on?
do i have to go to court? chp? dmv?
is there anyway i can get out of this since i dont think my car is that loud, i dont think its over 95 decibels?

no im not a cop and no they wont due a visual inspection, just give them ur ticket and tell them u put ur stock one back on and they should sign it off, ur lucky u didnt have to go to state ref, cause wen i got pulled over for my exhaust i had to go to state ref, so have them sign it off and u only pay a 10 dollar fee, i live in nor cal so i should know

Not wait a month to take care of a fix-it ticket....

Did you tell the cop you could smell donuts on his breath?

You might have to put the car back to "stock" and have it reinspected. I dont know ticket codes for Cali, but in Michigan, they just have you start your car and they do a "professional judgement" on if your car is too loud. I had a state trooper pull me over for "loud exhaust", and three harleys went by while he was talking to me and the cop actually had to shoutover the bikes to be heard....

I guess now you have to pay the 300 dollar fine.... if you werent so lazy and wait 30 days to get it fixed, you would of been fine. maybe theres a note on the ticket somewhere, that you had 30 days to do the repairs or pay the full fine.
