Cracked Brake Hardline, Install Gone to Hell... I Need Help
So I decided to install a new master cylinder today along with some stainless braided lines. Pretty standard install until I reach the driver-side rear brake line. With a small flare nut wrench, I turned the nut and a bunch of rust falls off and the hardline tears wide open.
The brake pipe in question is a single piece that runs from the proportioning valve up front, through the passenger side firewall, and under the rear seat. I don't think full replacement is an option.
My thoughts are cutting the line above the tear and put on a new fitting, or welding the pipe. More likely the prior. Beyond that, I'm at a loss on this one. Any thoughts?
