clutch...debating whether or not to downgrade back to stock clutch
hey. thanx for looking. i have posted b4 on the subject about my cltuch/tranny making a sceeching/squeling noise when taking off in 1 and even going into other gears. the clutch makes a whirring noise when the pedal is out in neutral. i have a ceramic stg 3 clutch in the car. i have searched and found that this clutch is horrible for daily driving and is nromal to make a squeal when slipping the clutch for a smooth take off. well my car is just slightly modified(intake, exhaust, cams and so on) would a exedy oem replacement or stg 1 be a better bet for me. will i notice a big loss in power if i go down to one of these clutches from what i had? which would you choose to replace my current clutch?...i want better drivability and to not have this problem again. o and the car is a 2000 civic si. also i think replacing out the throwout beraing and pilot bearing would help.

The whirring is your ISB(Input Shaft Bearing) most likely. Changing the TOB and pilot bearing wont do a thing.

Any OEM replacement clutch kit will work fine with the level of mods you have. You won't experience any loss of power. The clutch assembly has no effect on power unless your making so much that the clutch can't hold it (your not). Switch to a good, quality OE replacement like the Exedy and you'll be much happier.
