CANT FIGURE OUT WHERE THIS VACCUM/HOSE GOES!?? PLEASE HELP. B-Series CHIME IN
Any1 know where this hose is supposed to go??
Its right next to the intake mani, under my dizzy on my B16A..
a better pic i found online...
i removed what was left of the hose and here's what it looks like.
i was told it goes to the FAST IDLE THERMAL VALVE but i cant find any open connections. this morning when i was letting the car warm up before comin to work i noticed the RPM's jumped to 2K randomly and stayed there (this had never happened before)... then the car started overheating so this is the first hose i saw leaking. please help

I also picked up a rubber plug .. i was wondering if its safe to plug this up?
i read on another thread that u dont really need a FAST IDLE THERMAL VALVE? True or False?

don't really need fast idle valve, might stall before warmed up, or might even throw a code, idk
but you sure need something on there, a new hose or a plug, but keep in mind, it's a loop so you need more then one plug if you plug it.
check coolant level cause it should have leaked alot, and you might have to bleed the system.
just get a new hose

If you have nothing left to hook it up to then simply plugging it up is more then fine or you can T it to one of your other coolant lines. Make sure to fill up your coolant system and bleed the system so there are no air pockets floating around.

It is not a VACUUM line. It is a COOLANT line.
Mouab18c1, stop talking if you don't know what your talking about.
You can clearly see in the picture he found online it attaches to the same thing his upper radiator hose goes to. If your referring to the hose circled in green the line should go to your FITV. (Right below the throttle body.) I would suggest fixing it correctly, and replacing the line. Look around the throttle body for the other fitting it should go on to. My first thought with that plug is that for one, it's a coolant line.. there's heat behind it, and two.. there is pressure behind it.
It is not a IACV line. (That would be on the back of the intake manifold.) And it most definitely is not a heater core line. (That's at least twice the size.)
Good luck. I'd like to help more, but the pictures are pretty shoddy and it's 3am.

I never said it was a vacuum line. LMAO people freak out over the easiest ****. Not every damn coolant line needs to be hooked up if everything needed to function is already in tact. FYI Not every motor supports the stupid FITV. Its obvious if the OP's motor had the FITV he shouldnt even have to jack up the car to see it.
Apparently you got your head stuck somewhere. Blocking it off and or T'ing it to another coolant line is the easiest route to go. If you need a DIY on how to let me know ill be glad to show you how easy **** like this is done.

mouab18c1 I was not freaking out. I was emphasizing it. Nor did I mention that you were the one who mentioned it was a vacuum line, the OP did in the thread title. I don't need you to show me anything, thanks though.

Just letting you know bud, no harm.
Did you put a clamp on the plug? (I'm just curious.)
