2 different PCV system B18B1?
Hi, I searched on this forum and others a lot about oil catch can and everything that is related to it, but I haven't found all the information I need.
I have a B18B1 from a 94 LS integra. The PCV valve is on the back of the block, just over the black box.
On 95 and newer version of the B18B1, the PCV valve is on the top of the valve cover and there is no breather chamber (black box).
Here is my question: I want to add a oil catch can and I would like to have the best crankcase ventilation possible. Here is the two setup I consider:
Setup 1:
- Remove the breather chamber.
- Put a "barb" fitting in the big hole that was behind the black box (name this fitting A)
- The catch can will be connected between the PCV valve and the normal cranckcase ventilation hole (the one just above the breather chamber).
- The "fitting A" will be used to drain the oil from the catch can!
Setup 2:
- I read that I could replace the two freeze plug in the back of the block by to "barb" fiting and connect them to the oil catch can! Is that right? so here is the setup.
- Put the two barb fittinig.
- Connect these two fitting to the two nipple on the catch can.
- Dont connect the drain plug (or connect it the barb fitting on the right of the oil filter).
- Dont realy know what to do with the old black box, the hole behind it and the other one just over it (The old cranckcase ventilation setup)?
Sorry for my poor english!
And thaks for the help!

your obd2 valve cover should have a pcv hole on it. you can't put a black box on the back of the obd2 block unless you drill a hole out for it.
