Long story short, car was in an accident and the driver front strut was bent. From what I can tell it's just the rod. AMR is effectively no more so I've ruled out having them do it or getting a replacement so my only option is to hopefully have it rebuilt. Any recommendations?

I believe i read on here a while ago that their\andy's claim was that they were easily rebuilt by anyone who could do bilsteins or penskes.... if you are looking for someone specific my bad

Got an email from him last night saying be does have replacement parts available. We'll see how it goes.

I've emailed 5 different places that do high end shocks like bilstein and moton and two of them have said they don't rebuild these.

I'm not sure any shop would want to take a chance on rebuilding that damper for a few reasons. One of the most basic issues is matching the shocks - how would they know the valving of the other three? Also, there's a chance that with the rod being bent like that, enough side load was put through the shock piston into the walls on the up or down stroke that the walls/piston/piston seal are damaged. I'd question whether or not it'd be worth anyone's time or money to rebuild that single shock.

They aren't closed, just ordered new rubber gaskets for the top hats and dust boots. Hit up the 888 number Andy will get back to you.

Customer service was so bad this time that this box actually came a day early than expected and AMR didn't charge me a penny for anything. Thank you Andy for personally expediting the parts

I'm glad you have had a good experience with AMR but please stop acting like there aren't dozens or hundreds of people who have had major problems with AMR customer service.

I can only speak on my experience with AMR, and Andy has never done me wrong. I've had experience with Koni that wasn't as easy. So sorry to burst your bubble but I'm not acting. Good thing you wished me "GL with AMR" as it seemed to work great.

So here it is November 23rd and I finally received the missing camber plate I needed to finish the rebuild of these things so I can sell them. **** you very much AMR.

Your welcome! Since we've made a few changes to the camber plates since then I decided to make a pair instead of sending you the driver side only. Having a pair of new camber plates, hardware, as well as the radial bearing mounts should make them a easy sell.
