tokiko illuminas... why do they keep poping up?
well, not to long ago I bought a set of tokiko shocks and a set of eiback pro kit for my ek. well I swap them with a friend of mine and drove a round and everything seem to be cool... but it seems like now I feel every single bump on the ******* road... is that normal... oh not to mention i have gotten a couple of times the spring pop on me on th einside of the engine bay and hit my hood... looks like the washers dont support the hits and it poops out with the bushings. is this normal? oh yeah and I got the setting on the shocks in the middle... not to stiff not to smooth.

No that is not normal. Something is installed wrong. How does the spring pop up and hit the hood?

Something is incorrectly installed. It would help if you told us what kind of car it is on and would be even better if you posted some photos showing both the engine bay and the suspension in the wheel well.

It's actually a pretty common mistake because of all the layers you need to put back on the shaft. Lots of people forget the order.
You need to have that large, thick washer put on so that it rests against the tapered part of the shaft (where it gets thicker). This prevents the shaft from popping up, and possibly denting your hood (which I'm surprised it hasn't).

yeah, you either forgot to install the big washer (damper stop plate) or it came off when putting the spring on. its a rather thick washer, has a special shape to it to match the taper of the shock rod and has a rough surface. its not the same as the dust boot plate which is just a plain flat black washer.
it actually happened to me even though i assembled everything properly, because i had to readjust the orientation of the spring once, so i pulled the spring up, rotated it, and then put it back in place. went to go get food and back, and noticed sometihng was obviously wrong, when i figured out what was wrong, i swore i put everything together correctly and did NOT forget that washer. then i realized it must have come out when i lifted the spring and readjusted and i couldnt tell because it was under the stock dust cover.
