Re: TIE ROD END REPLACEMENTS
There is an inner tie rod end (tie rod as you call it) that connects to the rack, and an outer tie rod end that connects to the knuckle. The ebay kit only contains the outers.

Re: TIE ROD END REPLACEMENTS
I recently did this with my 93 Civic hatch and I can tell you right now...it's best to get the inner and outer tie rods at the same time so you can save yourself the trouble of doing it twice. Besides that...you'll only need to make one trip to the alignment shop after you install them.
I got mine at NAPA...roughly $40 per side, ($18-20 per tie rod...inner and outer).
You'll need two number 1's (inner tie rods) and both number 23 & 26, (left and right outer tie rods that have the ball joints on them).

Re: TIE ROD END REPLACEMENTS
Just get an entire rebuilt steering rack. I replaced my outer tie rod ends some years ago, then later replaced the whole rack that came with the inner tie rods only. So I had to swap my relatively new outers over to the new rack.
Yes it's a PITA to replace the rack with the engine in the car (at least on a GS-R) but I was able to do it in my garage.

Re: TIE ROD END REPLACEMENTS
I bought a complete rebuilt steering rack in 2007 from a company that uses all OEM Honda parts in their rebuilt units. It came with inner tie rods and was about $240 after core.

[QUOTE=PatrickGSR94;43871667]When you say rack & pinion, are you talking about the entire group of parts outlined as #2 above, or a specific part or parts?

so my mechanic was like i gotta replace the rack&pinon
