Default Suspension Package Opinions

Well im finally moving on to purchasing my front end suspension setup but need to know which one I should decide on...I have narrowed it down to the following three choices since im looking to purchase lifetime warranty parts and not cheap ebay garbage...I am also going to get a Firestone lifetime wheel alignment just in case anything breaks down...Hopefully someone out there has experience with the other two choices listed beside OEM since they want a arm and a leg

I have already researched Napa,Kragen,Autozone,Rock,Majestic Honda,Honda Parts Unlimited and various Honda Dealers and they are still way to overpriced...If anybody else out there gots a hook up for the lifetime warranty parts listed below please don't hesitate to let me know

Honda Dealer (OEM)
$196.84x2-Upper Control Arms
$85.59x2-Lower Ball Joints
$81.38x2-Outer Tie Rod Ends
$76.15x2-Inner Tie Rods
$879.92 Total

Pep Boys (Pro Steer)
$74.99x2-Upper Control Arms
$27.99x2-Lower Ball Joints
$33.00x2-Outer Tie Rod Ends
$31.99x2-Inner Tie Rods
$335.94 Total

Carquest (Moog)
$87.48x2-Upper Control Arms
$37.99x2-Lower Ball Joints
$47.99x2-Outer Tie Rod Ends
$43.99x2-Inner Tie Rods
$434.90 Total

You sure you looked at Majestic Honda? I show their price for the outer tie rods to be $45.26ea and the inners to be $42.36ea (see here). That's cheaper than the Moog stuff, and personally I would rather use the Honda parts for the same price.

Edit - Found the rest of your parts. $110 for each arm and $48 for each ball joint. Why are you replacing all of this stuff?

Very nice! It will literally be the best thing you have ever done!

Moog is pretty good from what I've heard on here, sorry no personal experience.

moog or oem honda are both solid choices. as far as the arms go. i'm on the energy suspension bushings and have nothing bad to say. much cheaper. also more firm. however, i'm not sure they will live as long as oem.

$30.79x2-Lower ball joints

Dorman

no exp with dorman, if you're getting the arms for the upper ball joints. spending a little more for oem or researching dorman might be worth doing. everything else is great. to me moog=oem, basially the same quality.

Cool. Those prices from Rock Auto seem pretty good on the Moog stuff. I would stay away from the Pep Boys Pro-Steer crap. It would probably work fine, but it's not really much cheaper so you might as well go with the stuff of known quality.

Where are you getting the manual rack from? Do you know if it has the same ratio? I replaced the manual rack in my EG with a power one from an Integra and just looped the lines. The Integra rack had a quicker ratio and makes driving easier. I guess what I'm getting at is if you want manual steering, make sure you aren't getting a slower rack...if so, you can always just loop the lines on your power rack and remove the PS pump from the motor.

hmm, so they are putting new bushings and ball joints in an oe arm. as long as the joint is good they are worth getting. the bushings are easy to replace. the fact that they are american does make a guy sleep better than being from china. the rock auto order looks good. i'd stay with oem or moog for the other parts which is what it sounds like you plan to do also.

i got the 88-91 manual rack & pinion on a trade from craigslist but it needs to be rebuilt...i currently have power steering in my ed3 but figured that my rack and pinion is getting hard to turn anyways and that it would be more cheaper to go the manual route...there's a couple pics of the rack below that i picked up on...!!!

i don't know about the company dorman itself but researched them and they are in the USA and a lot cheaper in price then other brands...They also come with a lifetime warranty as Moog so I fugured why not give it a try...I would buy OEM but have read some really good positive reviews on the Moog stuff and it is way cheaper in price then OEM which also only has a 12 month warranty unlike the Moog lifetime warranty...!!!
