Suspension noise, need help
Everytime my car goes out the driveway or up the driveway my car sounds like the chassis is flexing or something like that. It's like a creaking sound. It would also sounds like that when I lift my car up with a jack and then lower it back down, it makes that creaking sound. Could it be my struts? Bushings? Do I need to stiffen it up with a rear sway bar or tie bar? What could it be?

I would also chime and say bushings, or something worn out suspension related. Anything chassis related could be caused by accidents.

Pretty typical of decade+ old cars to creak a bit. Not really a big deal to be perfectly honest.
And to parrot the earlier posters, it's likely bushings.

Either really. But I was speaking of the removal of suspension travel that is common in these forums.
It's most likely just an old car with worn bushings. Nothing atypical.

When you remove a suspension part, (shocks in this case) it's important to put the cars weight on the wheels and let it sit at ride height before you fully tigthen suspension bolts down. This is preloading, and it helps to stop the bushings from tearing.
IIRC, you really are supposed to loosen all supension bolts and re-torque to spec at the new ride height....

Yes exactly. Rubber bushings don't turn. They flex and stretch. You need to return them to a neutral position at the current ride height. They will also last a lot longer that way.
