Running Illuminas + HR Race springs without bumpstops
So I had some egay coils that got put in awhile back from a local shop, and oem shocks got blown not too late afterwards. I am installing my illuminas + HR race springs on my accord (2.2inch f/2.0inch r). I soon realized that the front and the back are missing bump stops (could be why it rode like ****). Apparently VIP Performance took out the bump stops (that I originally cut in half). Is it okay to run the Illuminas and the drop springs without bumpstops? Or should I be worried and get some asap? Thanks for any input.

If you want to fork out more money for a new set of shocks soon, then go ahead and run without the bumpstops.
Bumpstops are designated to help prevent shock blowout anytime you bottom out your car.

You can potentially damage the shocks internally by running them without bump stops.

...not to mention those springs are likely way out of the optimal operating range (both in height and spring rate) of the Illuminas...

hate to bring this back from almost a month ago...but Illuminas would really be okay with H&R Race springs? I don't see it...Those things are really stiff and really low for adjustable Blues... I'm not saying they'll blow up after a month, but I don't think they'll last very long nor will it ride as well as it could with a better damper (or springs that aren't that low and stiff).

Shock wear depends on where in the travel range it is operating. This is why stock shocks blow so fast. When lowered they are near the max compression they have so they wear out. As long as your shocks are within their designed range(which having bumpstops helps with) they should be ok.
