my prelude's rear driver's is making "noises" when i'm on bumpy roads...
while the car is on the ground, i put my hands on the top part of the wheel/tire and wiggle and shake it... and it moved and made the exact same noise, which i figured it came from the upper control arm bushing...

also, your ball joint can be bad, too
but you can easily figure out when you shake the wheel

i havent replace the bushings yet, but i'll do that soon, but i'm almost sure that's what making the noise
hope this help

I am getting the loud clunking noise right now on my sol, I have omni's and I have check and double checked everything and am also stumped. I still haven't looked at bushings too much though, still I wish someone could fix it. Mine is really when I go over small bumps aswell as large ones, its the worst at low speeds. SOMEONE HELP US!

I was having the same problem, in my EM1. (Clunking/Banging/Clicking/Tacking/Whateva) from Passenger side. Turns out a exhaust hanger had come loose, and it was lightly tapping against the mid section heat sheild. The second time, it was the muffler exhaust hanger. To fix it, I just bent the metal sheild away from the exhaust. Viola, no more knocking. Just a thought.

Update: I installed hubcentric rings on my Rotas. i drove the car a little and have yet to hear the knocking noise! I honestly doubt and almost refuse to believe that i fixed the problem, but we'll see.

doesnt make sense that it would be the rims making the noise

mine turned out to be the lower control arm hitting the exhaust. i will have to live with it until i make up a new exhaust, i will hang it tight with the body.

I have the same problem in my car, 1996 GS-R sedan. H&R Sports on stock shocks.

Will polyurethane bushings help?

i use to have h&r sport lowering springs with itr rear sway bar + bsq reinforcement and the rear passenger side will pop when i turn, or when i back out of the driveway

i switched to ground control coilovers with koni yellows + comptech rear tie bar + sway bar and the same spot will still pop in turns and going up/ down driveways

then, i jacked up the rear of the car recently, set it back down and now it doesnt pop.
not sure what it was, but im thinking it was from the way the suspension settled from being jacked up. ill check next time when it pop again, could be my trailing arm bushing as someone mentioned before.
