I'm currently building a 91 standard crx rally car. the cage is underway and I plan on installing a JDM civic sir ZC motor. My problem is that I don't know what my suspension options are. Everyone is lowering their ride, and are setting them up for street, this obviously is the opposite direction I need to go. Any advice would be helpful.

Also, custom axels have to be made for the ZC tranny to mate to my hubs. Is it possible to install integra hubs and use integra axels? If it is possible, what years would be compatable for a 91 standard crx.

DMS and Hot Bits makes rally shocks. Bilstein in North Carolina might also be able to help you out, as they do dirt racing. Search for posts by the user Rotten. He runs rally also .

I have Hotbits DT1 on my Integra in the Targa Newfoundland and their great. I have nothing but good things to say about them. Best customer service I have ever seen as well. I can raise the car higher than stock or lower than i would ever want/need. Spring rates are good and the dampers are awesome.

how much did the hot bits setup cost, if you can remember. I need maximum travel and droop. Running STPR and similar dirt/gravel events with lots of jumps.

I did see the fatboys site, I gained alot of valuable information. I wish I could pull off a dashboard like chris's.

Look at Reiger or Proflex stuff. Most of the Rally cars in the UK run Reiger.

Hotbits was pretty cheap actually. Only cost 1600.00 or so Canadian dollars. If your involved in racing then inquire about possible sponsorship rate... It shaved some $$ off for me and I was very proud to give em the advert!

I am looking to setup my turbo integra with gravel rally setup. My whole setup is pretty budget, so while I think those Hotbits would be ideal for me, they are a little rich for me.

I am thinking about bisteins with ground controls with taller, softer springs. Any suggestions on spring rates?

fyi, if you re-use your stock d series transmission, or use a CRX si Trans for the shorter gearing, you will not need to change out hubs or axles, bolts right up.

Also, from what i remember the ZC didnt come from a JDM SIR, the SIR was a b16 powerplant.

Grassroots motorsports had a writeup a few years back stating that the KYB AGX were good struts to use for budget rally cross. I also just heard that tokico Dspecs handle rally abuse fairly well if you can find them for your car. I would stick with stock springs and a larger rear sway bar.

Billstiens are a great way to go. Hotbits use the Billstein shock internals, custom valved.

I would steer clear of KYBs.

You don't actually want softer springs necessarily--probably about 25% stiffer than stock, and with good bump rubbers. Check the block height of your springs, and make sure that they aren't too short.

If you're planning on competing, get some good shocks/springs. It would be well worth the money.
