Default CRX rear disc swap = horrible alignment...

Alright, so I just finished putting 94 Integra LS rear discs on my 1988 CRX Si. I'm pretty sure I installed everything correctly but I have one major problem. The passenger side looks great, no major alignment problems at all. But the driver's side has massive toe in and disgusting positive camber. What could have caused this?! I used the CRX compesator arms and the CRX UCA's. I'm clueless and I don't think a simple alignment will fix it...

I'll let the pics do the talking:

Passenger side:

Driver side:

the trailing arms from the DC will cause this on a crx. There should be some thread links at the top of the crx forum.

I believe a fix for this is to have the hubs pressed out on the stock trailing arms and use the DC's - not 100% on this but ask around in that forum

BS. this is the REAR suspension, chief.

if anything the integra rear LCA is going to give negative camber. the driver side is obviously fucked up compared to the passenger side, which looks fine.

accident damage. no LCA speculation, please....

Is it possible to just swap the disc assembly over to the old CRX trailing arm? I'm pretty sure the arms are the same.

the dc ones should be a bit longer

either way chief since there were x's on the right side pix last time the fix is still the same.

I had a similar problem did you reuse the crx compensator arms? I think that could be the problem.

It is possible to swap just the disc part--there are 4 or 5 tight torx bolts you will have to undue (they are TIGHT) and you just switch spindles--if your car had better alignment with your crx trailing arms, this is your best bet...

the trailingarms are ok. you have to swap back to the crx compesator arms
(not sure what they are called) but they are the short ones in front.

I used the original CRX compensator arms. They never came off the car, that's why I started taking the spindles off, and broke the cheapo Torx bit from Pepboys .

ok what you need to do is use the compensation arms off your original brakes (thats the short little arm located off the trailing arm closest to the front of the car) and remove the integra one and swap them over. secondly, you can adjust that negative toe by loostening the compensation arm bolt located on the chassis of the car (14mm i believe) and pivot it in or out then tighten to where you feel is pretty close to perfect then once you are somewhat able to drive the car take it down to an alignment shop and get a 4 wheel alignment and you should be set, if you need any help just im me and i'll try to help you out the best i can. I have been in this boat before and learned the hard way.

Thats just horrible Didnt the trailing arm look bent or anything out of the ordinary before u put it on? I say just find another trailing arm and dont even **** with changing spindles. U paid for 2 good trailing arms and u should get 2 good arms. Return it and get another. Well, assuming u got it from a junkyard and all.

Yeah I know. I actually got it from a local member here on HT. I specifically asked him if the trailing arms were bent or anything, and he told me "No, of course not." Just goes to show who you can trust nowadays .

And to answer your question, no the trailing arm didn't appear to be different at all. It really sucks because even though it looked fine, the deformation was just enough to **** it all up.

It's usually the hub/spindle that bends in those, so the arm will usually look ok, even though it isn't. If you can swap the hubs out cheaply, that may be another option of going.

ouch, that's definately a bent trailing arm. same thing happened to me actually. it can be really hard to tell the arm is bent until you get it on the car, since only a little bit out at the hub will be exaggerated once the wheel is put on.

the wrong compensator arms should only affect toe, not camber. I personally helped install 95 integra rear trailing arms, brakes, and lower control arms on an 89 civic and its fine with the civic/crx front compensator arm.

you can swap the hub assembly over to your CRX trailing arms though, like said above. theres like 5 bolts holding it on from the back of the arm, you'll need a big air gun to pop them loose. then just transfer them over to your CRX arms. and you might want to press in a new oem trailing arm bushing while you have the arms off the car too.

good luck.
